    The mother of a four-year-old boy from Shrewsbury says his recent liver transplant has been a success. 

    Harry Maceachan had the operation six weeks ago, when he received a third of this dad Simon's liver.

    Harry was born with a rare liver disease and had to undergo a second transplant because the first one failed. 

    His father Simon was a living donor as no suitable match could be found from the organ donor register.

    A&E performance in England sank to a new low in February for the second month in a row, official figures show.

    Hospitals are meant to see 95% of patients in four hours, but just 87.8% were, NHS England data revealed.

    That is a drop of nearly one percentage point since January, which was the worst month since the target was introduced in 2004.

    There's now a yellow weather warning in place for rain this afternoon. Showers this afternoon could be heavy and thundery which could lead to standing water, spray and localised flooding.

    The leader of Telford and Wrekin Council Kuldhip Sahota is to step down from the role. 

    Mr Sahota is 65 in May and it's understood he feels the time is right for someone else to take over.

    He's been in charge of the Labour group for the past five years and although he's stepping down as leader, it's expected he'll remain a serving councillor. 

    The Labour group will hold an AGM, where a new leader will be announced.

    It's exactly 20 years to the day since Shrewsbury Town made their first ever appearance at Wembley. The M6 was a rolling queue of Shropshire buses, and blue and amber was everywhere.

    Shrewsbury didn't lift the Auto Windscreens Shield that afternoon, they were beaten 2-1 by Rotherham.

    Specialist ambulance staff helped firefighters tackle a large factory fire at Stadco Ltd in Harlescott Lane, Shrewsbury in the early hours of this morning, external.

    A hazard response team was sent, because the fire was in a restricted access area, where there were chemicals.

    People working at the site were safely evacuated from the building. 

    Ambulance Crews were stood down just before 05:00.

    Bishop Hooper C of E Primary School in Ashford Carbonell is closed after a veranda collapsed.

    The Hereford diocese, which owns the school, says no one was hurt and safety inspections are taking place.

    A British tourist who had a heart attack in Thailand has arrived at a hospital in the UK after a fight to find a bed.

    Chris Masters, 44, was stranded in a Bangkok hospital until his local NHS in Shropshire could find him a bed.

    He was flown to intensive care at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on Wednesday, where bosses apologised for the delay due to high demand for beds.

    Mr Masters' wife Yvonne thanked doctors and well-wishers for their support.

    A primary school in south Shropshire is closed for safety inspections on its building after a verandah collapsed. 

    The Bishop Hooper school in Ashford Carbonel has been open for five years. The Hereford Diocese, which owns the school, says no-one's been hurt and parents were all informed about the work yesterday.

    Shropshire Council and the waste management company Veolia are reintroducing kerbside cardboard collections later this year. 

    Five years ago, the collections were stopped because of the ink and staples in the cardboard meant it could no longer be sent for composting. The change affected about 130,000 homes.
