    We're hearing reports that snowdrifts are causing major problems particularly on smaller, rural roads.

    In some cases, roads seem passable until a driver turn a corner and encounters a 4-5ft drift. What's worse, some cars are struggling to turn around without help.

    This was the scene in Llanyblodwel in Shropshire this morning.

    The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning covering most of the West Midlands tomorrow, with only Staffordshire in the "yellow warning" area.

    It has also issued a more severe red warning for an area of south Wales, just south of Herefordshire.

    The Met Office says its red warning means "extreme weather is expected" and people "should take action now to keep yourself and others safe from the impact of the weather".

    Hundreds of schools across the West Midlands have already made the decision to close tomorrow, because of the cold weather.

    Heavy snow and freezing temperatures are forecast overnight and there could be more that make the decision to shut tomorrow morning.

    Local authorities are putting together lists of those affected on their websites.

    Advice on how to safely clear snow and ice from footpaths and drives is being given out by Shropshire Council, external.

    Key points include not using too much salt (a teaspoon per square metre is enough), not to use hot water (which will freeze) and to pile snow at the edge of the footpath closest to the road.

    The authority also says there is no law preventing you clearing away snow and that if an accident does occur outside your property it is "highly unlikely that you would be sued" as long as you are careful and don't do anything to make the footpath more dangerous than it was before.

    The demolition of an office block in Telford town centre is complete.

    Reynolds House, in Ironmasters Way, has been removed to make way for a new, three-storey headquarters for the Housing Plus Group and it has shared this fantastic timelapse video with us.

    The Met Office is warning of more snow, some of it heavy, in the West Midlands this afternoon.

    It has an amber warning in place, external for parts of Worcestershire, Shropshire and Herefordshire.

    Hundreds of schools are already closed, but we're getting another wave of closures, as some decide to shut early.

    We're expecting to hear news of more school closures, with the weather forecast to get worse later, but at this stage there are 29 closed across Shropshire.

    Of those, 20 are in the Telford and Wrekin local authority area and only three are secondary schools - the majority are primary schools.

    More than 300 homes and businesses in the West Midlands are without electricity this morning.

    Western Power Distribution said Bridgnorth, Wolverhampton and Dorstone in Herefordshire were worst affected, with about 100 properties without electricity in each of the areas.

    In south Cheshire, Cheshire East Council advises to check individual school websites for information

    Eight schools are closed in Telford, external.

    Ten are currently closed in Herefordshire, external, with others saying they'll send home pupils at lunchtime.

    One school is closed in Warwickshire, external, and one in Coventry.

    Three schools are closed in the Shropshire Council area.

    "Blizzard conditions" are expected by this evening across parts of the Midlands.

    BBC Weather's Ben Rich said a "biting easterly wind" would make it feel like -11C (12F) in the area.
