Four year groups at the independent Oswestry School have been asked to stay at home for a fortnight, after nine people associated with the school tested positive for coronavirus.
The school's head, Julian Noad, said they were suffering no significant ill-effects and were recovering well.
Children have switched to online learning and those who board at the school are self-isolating, the school added.

The Severn Valley Railway is set to receive £900,000 from the government to help it recover from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, which it says "is crucial to getting us through the next six months".
More than 450 heritage organisations are set to share the first wave of a £1.57bn government scheme to help them through the pandemic.
The Culture Recovery Fund is aimed at securing the future of museums, galleries and heritage sites.
The railway, which runs for 16 miles from Kidderminster in Worcestershire to Bridgnorth in Shropshire, is among sites to receive funding from the first tranche of £103m.
Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway with £318,000, Dudley Canal and Tunnel Trust with £309,800 and National Memorial Arboretum Company Ltd with £296,600 are also among those benefiting.

A Shropshire family say they've been left devastated, after a fire destroyed their home and belongings, and killed their pets.
Emergency services were called out to their static caravan at Fordhall Grange Stud livery yard in Market Drayton at about 17:00 on Wednesday.
Sharon Bailey, 48, said she had lived there for about six years, but had owned the property with the horses and the livestock for just over 20 years.
Mrs Bailey said she was out feeding horses at the time and had lost all of her belongings .
Mrs Bailey, who has lived there with her husband and her son, said: "Our whole world has just collapsed."

A scheme which offers free trees to landowners in Shropshire has opened up to applications again, for planting this autumn and winter.
Shropshire Council is offering them in bundles of 20 trees of hedgerow plants, up to a maximum of 200 per site, as part of its commitment to make the county carbon-neutral by 2030.
The trees have to be planted somewhere visible to the public and can't be grown for profit.
We could have some rain showers this morning, but they should clear up by midday and temperatures are expected to rise to about 14C (57F).
But we are forecast rain for the next two days.

A police community support officer (PCSO) has been attacked after asking a man to put on a face mask in a shopping centre.
The PCSO saw the man at Telford Shopping Centre and spoke to him on Tuesday morning, West Mercia Police said. , external
The man refused and was asked to leave the centre at which point he became aggressive and assaulted the officer, the force said.
The PCSO wasn't seriously hurt.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and released under investigation.

A charity which runs three hospices is losing £100,000 each week because of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, according to its chief executive.
Severn Hospice works across Shropshire and mid-Wales with hospices in Newtown, Shrewsbury and Telford.
Heather Tudor told BBC Radio Shropshire their costs are £11m every year and they lost fundraising income when their charity shops closed and events were cancelled during lockdown.
She said they are facing a significant deficit this financial year.
"It is always challenging to raise the amount of money we need to run the hospice every year but this year is just something we've never experienced before."
