  15. Aptamil: 'Milk smelt like sour cheese'published at 15:28 British Summer Time 9 July 2018

    Stephanie Barnard
    BBC News

If you're a new parent who uses Aptamil baby milk formula you may have noticed some changes to three of its recipes, and in some cases reportedly making some babies ill.

Caitlin Richards from Telford, mum to nine-month-old Isabel told me that she only noticed a subtle difference in the packaging initially - but then realised there were bigger changes when her daughter started refusing to drink it and then had a "poorly stomach".

The powder just wasn't mixing, it was clumping and Isabel just wouldn't drink it. It smelt like sour cheese, it just stunk. She's a happy baby and doesn't cry much but then when she started having it, she had a bad belly and just wouldn't settle and was kicking her legs around.

    Caitlin Richards, Mum to Isabel

Ms Richards says that thankfully she's been able to find some older formula recipes in some shops in the town, though not many - and is currently considering what to do and whether to change brand.

The manufacturer, Danone said it had carried out extensive safety checks, but added that it was "taking all feedback very seriously". Read more on this story on BBC News.

Mr Davis told the BBC that he was no longer the best person to deliver the PM's Brexit plan - agreed by the cabinet on Friday - as he did not "believe" in it.

The UK is due to leave the European Union on 29 March 2019 after a referendum was held in 2016, but the two sides have yet to agree how trade will work between the UK and the EU afterwards.

Today, the Wyre Forest MP and former trade minister Mark Garnier called for an end to uncertainty over the UK's Brexit plan, saying "businesses want to know where we're going to end up on this, one way or the other."
