The rain will be preceded by snow over the Pennines.

A Sheffield student is one of 17 finalists in a national fashion competition, the final of which will be judged during the world famous London Fashion Week.

Marika Fujita is studying fashion in the newly renovated GPO building in Sheffield. The old post office is now being used by Sheffield Hallam University.  

The competition has been organised by Fashion Awareness Direct, external, a charity supporting young people to bridge the gap between education and the fashion industry.

A 13,000-signature petition has been given to Sheffield City Council today calling for the sale of Cobnar Cottage to be reversed. The building, which stands in Graves Park, was auctioned-off last week.

The Friends of Graves Park say the park was gifted to the people of Sheffield and the council, as the trustees, should be listening to the people of Sheffield.

The council said it had hoped to raise £80,000, but the cottage was actually sold for £152,000 and all the money will be spent on capital projects in the park.

We've been talking about a David Bowie mural in Sheffield city centre which has sparked controversy online, external this afternoon.

The work on Division Street was painted by graffiti artist Trik.

It's been the subject of much criticism today, but these people in Sheffield think it's actually a real work of art and a good advert for the arts in the city.

Police officers are asking for your help to identify the man in this e-fit image in relation to a robbery in Rotherham.

It happened on Wednesday 27 January when two men are reported to have forced their way inside a house , externalon Lady Oak Road, East Herringthorpe.

The men were carrying a hammer and are said to have threatened the occupants before demanding money from them.

A quantity of cash and a mobile phone were taken during the incident and one of the occupants, a 43-year-old man, suffered a suspected broken jaw.

Campaigners for a "Sheffield People's Budget" have presented a 1,000-strong petition to the city's Labour council demanding they use their reserves and borrowing powers to set a "No Cuts" budget for 2016-17. 

The petition has been signed by junior doctors, striking housing workers, civil servants and council workers under threat of redundancy.

Meanwhile, council leader Julie Dore says she'll write to George Osborne about 250 at-risk jobs at the Business, Innovation and Skills office in the city if she hasn't heard from the Secretary of State by Friday.

Amir Khan is running from a fight with Kell Brook, according to Sheffield trainer Ryan Rhodes.

Lancashire fighter Khan announced he would face Sal "Canelo" Alvarez in May, putting to an end hopes of an all-British affair at Wembley. 

And Rhodes, who fought Alvarez back in 2011, tells me the showdown is unlikely to happen at all.

A petition bearing 6,000 names has been handed in at Sheffield Town Hall calling for an end to trees being cut down. 

Council contractor Amey has been felling trees in several areas saying they're either diseased and dangerous or damaging pavements.

The petition says there are other alternatives to trees being felled which haven't been explored properly.

An armed man is being hunted after a robbery at a shop in Kiveton Park, Rotherham, at about 20:30 last night.

Police say a shopkeeper was threatened with what's thought to have been a fake gun at a convenience store on the junction of Hard Lane and Station Road.

Officers are appealing for help from the public, external.

The measures include limiting benefits for migrants who come here from the Continent to work, and giving national parliaments more powers to block European legislation. 

But Labour's John Mann, the MP for Bassetlaw, was unimpressed by the draft deal:

I've just spoken to graffiti artist Trik (pictured), the man behind the David Bowie tribute mural on Division Street in Sheffield which has divided opinion.

Some say it doesn't look much like the pop and rock legend who died last month.

Trik tells me he's considering painting over the mural sometime later today following the reaction it's received.

"I'm going to get a picture of it, so it'll be fine, but I've got to do what I've got to do. I'm finding it fun, let them hate," he says.
