    When was the last time you had a fit of the giggles? 

    Giggles are contagious and in the news today, two schools have teamed up with academics from Reading University to research what causes so-called "emotional contagion".

    Sir Cliff Richard has said he was left fearing he would die as a result of the stress of being publicly named as a suspect in a sexual abuse investigation.

    He was told last week he wouldn't face any charges but he has told the Daily Mail he was left physically and emotionally exhausted by a two-year ordeal. 

    South Yorkshire Police has since apologised for their handling of the investigation. Sir Cliff says he hopes the BBC will also apologise for the way they reported a raid on his home.

    Over 50 big elephants will joining the baby elephants next month as part of a big art trail to raise money for Sheffield Children's Hospital.

    Former Sheffield United footballer Ched Evans has signed a 12-month deal with League One Chesterfield. The Court of Appeal quashed his conviction for rape in April.

    There will be a retrial later this year.

    Evans came close to joining League One side Oldham Athletic in January 2015, before the club pulled out of the deal.

    In a BBC survey of League One and League Two clubs following the Latics' reversal, prior to the conviction being quashed, Chesterfield said in a statement: "Please note that we wouldn't sign him".

    Police investigating a sex assault of a 63-year-old woman in Mosborough, Sheffield, last week have issued an electronic image of a man they want to speak to.

    At around 19:30 on Tuesday 14 June the 63-year-old woman was walking through allotments on Moss Way.

    She was assaulted before the attacker left the scene.

    He was wearing a light grey tracksuit and had a stud in one ear.

  11. Ched Evans: Chesterfield sign striker despite October rape retrialpublished at 08:58 British Summer Time 21 June 2016

    Former Sheffield United player, Ched Evans, who faces a retrial over rape allegations in October, has joined League One side Chesterfield on a one-year deal.

    Former Wales striker Evans was jailed in 2012 for raping a 19-year-old woman, but had his conviction quashed by the Court of Appeal in April.

    The 27-year-old, who has always denied the charges against him, was released from jail in October 2014 after serving half of a five-year sentence.

    His last professional game was in 2012.

    There are delays on the M1 as you head south into Derbyshire.

    It's particularly heavy between J29, A617 (Chesterfield) and J28, A38 (Alfreton) after an earlier incident. 

    All lanes have been re-opened but there's congestion to back to Woodall Services.

    You've probably heard about the elephants coming to Sheffield. 

    The Herd of Sheffield, external will be the biggest public art trail the city has seen.

    We ran our competition to design the BBC Radio Sheffield elephant and the finished thing will be unveiled in the next few weeks. 

    But from today you can see the little elephants in 11 locations across Sheffield. 

    These calf elephant sculptures have been designed by pupils from 73 local schools, don't they look great!

    Over 10,000 children have taken part in designing and decorating the Little Herd and you can see them at sites including John Lewis and the Winter Gardens until 30 September.
