    Labour MPs have overwhelmingly backed a vote of "no confidence" in their leader Jeremy Corbyn following widespread criticism of his performance during the European Union referendum campaign.

    The 23-year-old, who was born in Hong Kong, is ranked 100 places below today's opponent and she has now claimed her first ever win in a Grand Slam match.

    After abusing five children and keeping and distributing indecent images of youngsters, 39 year-old Jason Madden is behind bars, external.

    Madden, of Leopold Street, Dinnington, pleaded guilty to ten counts of indecent assault.

    There's a call for ideas to help councils in South Yorkshire to hit their target to 'reduce, re-use, recycle and recover energy from 95% of South Yorkshire’s waste'. 

    The plan, external is out to consultation and comes from the Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham Waste partnership. The consultation runs until the end of July.

    • Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder says he will not push transfer listed players onto the sidelines in pre-season. The blades have a number of squad members who have been told they are free to find new clubs.
    • Rotherham United defender Kirk Broadfoot says he's settled at the club and never wanted to be anywhere else. The 31-year-old agreed a 2 year contract yesterday.

    A fleet of electric cycles has arrived in Rotherham.

    Businesses and residents are being encouraged to take part in a scheme, external which allows them to be used for free. The idea is to enourage cycling as an alternative way of commuting.

    This Friday is the 100th Anniversary of the start of the Battle of the Somme. At Weston Park in Sheffield there'll be a special service of remembrance for the hundreds of soldiers from the city who were killed in the battle. 

    Our World War One story today comes from Fitzalan Square in Sheffield. In 1914 it was the place to be when the 1365 Hallamshire Rifles marched through the city on their way to the front and were captured on film. The images show smiling troops and waving onlookers; no-one at that time had any idea what they would soon be facing overseas.

    People using libraries in Sheffield can now get free wi-fi.

    Users can log on from smartphones, tablets and laptops as well as library computers.

    The service is provided through a grant from Arts Council England, external.

    Barnsley midfielder Paul Digby has completed his move to Ipswich Town. The Tractor Boys have taken over the player's contract. 

    Meanwhile, Sheffield United are close to off-loading unwanted midfielder Dean Hammond. The 33 year old triggered a clause in his loan deal allowing him to sign a one year contract with the Blades, but has been told by new manager Chris Wilder he is surplus to requirements.
