    We've talking about home ownership this morning... Because if you thought it was just hard to buy a house in London and the South East, you'd be wrong.

    A new study has found that levels of home ownership in England are as low as they were in the 1980s.

    The biggest shift towards renting, in recent years, has been in major cities, such as Manchester, Birmingham and Sheffield.

    I spoke to Stephen Clark, from the Resolution Foundation, and he told me how Sheffield compares to the rest of the country.

    Update on the contaminated water problem in South Yorkshire.

    Thorne residents have been told they must boil water before drinking until Thursday at the earliest.

    Yorkshire water says it is continuing to try to find out what is causing the contamination, external in the area near Doncaster.

    Yorkshire Water say people living in the Thorne area of Doncaster should continue to boil their water before drinking , externaluntil at least Thursday.

    A lady from Doncaster, who set herself the challenge to swim 250 miles to raise money for a charity which supports deaf children and their families, is finishing her challenge today.

    Linda Carlo will be greeted by some very special guests - Merrill Osmond and his son Justin!

    I've been to see her cross the finishing line in Armthorpe this morning.

  5. Watch: 15,000 Bakewell puddings to go to Japanpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 2 August 2016

    A bakery in Bakewell have made 15,000 Bakewell puddings for two food festivals later this year.

    Bloomers Craft Bakery in Bakewell was asked to provide them for the events in Japan.

    The journey, by sea from Southampton, will take up to 40 days.

  6. Concerns grow for missing Tamarapublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 2 August 2016

    Police are growing increasingly concerned, external for the welfare of missing 15-year-old Tamara Carr from Sheffield, who has not been seen or heard from for nearly 48 hours.

    Tamara was last seen at around 7.30am on Sunday 31 July in the Shirecliffe Road area of Sheffield and there has been no contact from her since.

    Tamara is around 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build with brown hair that is pink at the ends.

    She is believed to be wearing black jeans with a maroon hooded top and black trainers.

    Air Cadets in Eckington are after more people to join their squadron, external, as they celebrate their 75th anniversary.

    The 2000 Eckington Air Training Corps have close ties with the RAF, with some cadets joining the air force in the future.

  8. HS2 'unphased' by Barnburgh troublepublished at 10:17 British Summer Time 2 August 2016

    HS2 say they will continue to go to meetings to talk about the proposals, after there was trouble at a meeting last night.

    They say they've spoken to more than 3,000 people on the route at a series of information events in the last two weeks.

    HS2 say they will continue to hold these events, including one tomorrow in West Yorkshire, to provide information and answer questions about the proposed route and next steps.

    A woman from Sheffield will be on ITV tonight - showing off her garden.

    Marian Simpson was approached by the people who make Alan Titchmarsh's "Love Your Garden" - and as soon as they saw photos they sent a camera crew round.

    A ban on using tap water without boiling it first is set to remain in place for a fifth day.

    Some 3,600 properties in Thorne, near Doncaster, have been without drinking water since Friday when high levels of bacteria were found in their supply.

    Yorkshire Water said tests to confirm the water was safe to use were ongoing, with bottled water being distributed over the weekend.

    Yesterday, it issued a warning after receiving reports of bogus callers suggesting the boil first instruction had been lifted.

    The Blades emphatically stated last night he's had no offers for the full back.

  12. HS2: Police called after trouble flares at meetingpublished at 09:08 British Summer Time 2 August 2016

    South Yorkshire Police have confirmed they were called to reports of a disturbance at Barnburgh Primary School on Church Lane last night.

    It was reported that a large number of people were trying to enter the school to attend the meeting which caused some disruption.

    When police arrived there were many people at the meeting, but they say no criminal offences were reported and no-one was arrested.

    A second meeting was held after the first in order to accommodate the significant number of people who attended.

    Emotions boiled over last night at a meeting about the proposed HS2 railway line.

    The new plan is that the line will cut through the Dearne Valley between Rotherham and Doncaster.

    The new route is proving controversial in Doncaster and the elected mayor Ros Jones says she is against the plan.

    There was a public meeting last night at Barnburgh School in Doncaster, where organisers called the police to keep order.

    Trains from Sheffield to London are being cancelled after a bridge collapsed at Barrow Upon Soar near Leicester.

    The bridge collapsed in the early hours of this morning and trains to London St Pancras have been cancelled all morning.

    East Midlands Trains say they don't think the line will open today and a replacement bus service is in operation between Loughborough and Leicester.

    There's a chance to see the latest plans today for a proposed new theme park for South Yorkshire.

    Derbyshire-based Gullivers want to build on the old Pithouse West colliery site near Rotherham.

    I've been along to the site to see where it could all happen.

    Rain will spread across from mid-morning onwards, with most parts seeing light, intermittent outbreaks by late afternoon.

    Bridge collapse

    The sudden collapse of bridge is causing major disruption to trains between Sheffield and London.

    The bridge collapsed at Barrow Upon Soar, near Loughborough, Leicestershire, in the early hours affecting the line north of Leicester.

    Trains between London and Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and Sheffield have been cancelled or delayed.
