    Police say any kind of hate crime will not be tolerated as a woman is sent to prison , externalfor hurling racial abuse in Rotherham.

    35-year-old Kelly Marie Walton, of no fixed address, has been jailed for four months for using racially aggravated words causing harassment, alarm and distress. 

    One of her victims was abused in a deli in Wellgate and later Walton was seen shouting racial abuse at a man and woman in a car in Wellgate.

    A 16-year-old boy was stabbed outside Rotherham College today. 

    It happened just before 13:00 in Eastwood Lane. 

    The teenager wasn't seriously injured. 

    Police set up up a cordon after the incident but no arrests have been made so far.

    The leader of Sheffield City Council has helped raise a flag outside the town hall today in support of campaigners pressing for an end to violence in Kashmir.

    There were speeches from relatives of those affected as well as people from the disputed territory which has seen much bloodshed.

  10. Tree campaign arrests fall-out in Sheffieldpublished at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2016

    Two men have been arrested as campaigners tried to prevent an old tree being felled in Sheffield.

    Police were called by the council's contractor, AMEY, as its workers became involved in a stand-off with the campaigners on Marden Road in Nether Edge.

    The council has faced months of criticism over the way it's been handling diseased and damaged trees in the city, with campaigners saying some healthy trees are being removed needlessly.

    Here's what tree campaigner Dave Dillner had to say:

    The dangers of fires being started because of a someone's subtance abuse is being highlighted.

    With senses being impaired, the risk of someone causing a fire in their home is much greater, says South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.

    The fall in the value of the pound following the EU referendum may have made it more expensive for us to go on holiday; but in terms of business in Yorkshire it's a mixed picture. 

    Companies that sell abroad are benefiting because their products have become cheaper to buy, but anyone importing materials has seen costs rise.

    Housebuilder Persimmon, external is planning to open a brick factory in South Yorkshire next year.

    The company says its fortunes are on the up, and has today reported a buoyant third quarter, brushing aside Brexit fears in the process. 

    The group said its private sales rate in the period was 19% ahead of last year and that the firm is "fully sold up" for the current year.

    Wales manager Chris Coleman feels "a lot needs to happen" for Ched Evans to resurrect his international career. 

    Evans won 13 caps for Wales before he was originally convicted of raping a 19-year-old woman in a Premier Inn near Rhyl, North Wales, in May 2011. 

    The former Manchester City and Sheffield United striker served two-and-a-half years of a five-year prison sentence before his conviction was quashed, and he was found not guilty following a retrial

    Evans has resumed his career at Sky Bet League One club Chesterfield, and the 27-year-old has scored four times in 12 appearances for the Spireites. 

  17. Loxley chapel hope after devastating firepublished at 14:06 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2016

    An update following a big fire that caused further damage to an already dilapidated grade II listed building in Sheffield. 

    Loxley Chapel was built in 1787 and is thought to be the oldest building in Loxley. 

    Many of the people who died in the Great Sheffield Flood in 1864 are buried there.

    Heritage at Risk at Historic England, external have produced a report into the state of the building since the fire.

    The interior has been lost, the structure's been compromised.

    1,500 people have signed-up in the last year to be bone marrow donors thanks to just one Sheffield voluntary organisation. 

    Students from the University of Sheffield group called Sheffield Marrow have been nominated in the Recruiter of the Year category at this year's Anthony Nolan Supporter Awards, external in recognition of their efforts.

    An image of a man wanted in connection with the rape of a child in Sheffield has been released.

    Police say the incident, which happened in September 2015, was reported to police, external more than a year later. 

    The alleged victim, a 13-year-old girl, came forward to report what happened. The girl was 12 at the time the offence is believed to have occurred.  

    Police say the man in the e-fit image could hold vital information about what happened.
