  2. Demolition digger used in Ben Needham searchpublished at 10:44 British Summer Time 4 October 2016

    Police have permission to take down part of a farmhouse on the Island of Kos in their search for Ben Needham.

    He went missing during a trip to the island in 1991 with his family who were renovating a property there.

    Police have been told he may have been accidentally killed by a digger driver on the site during that work.

    Officers have been searching land near the farmhouse for well over a week.

    The news was announced by Toby Foster on his show today.

    The re-trial is of footballer Ched Evans for rape is due to begin today. He's a former Sheffield United player - a Welsh international - now playing at Chesterfield.

    He has always denied raping a 19-year-old woman in 2011. 

    His original conviction was quashed at the Court of Appeal after he'd served half of his five-year sentence.

    A specialist team has begun a ninth day of excavations close to where the 21-month-old went missing in 1991.

    Det Insp Jon Cousins told reporters his negotiations with the farmhouse owners were successful but he acknowledged it was a difficult decision for them.

    "The family are clearly upset about what we're doing," he said. "They have very kindly agreed to allow us to do that and I am extremely grateful for that."

  10. Ben Needham search: Farmhouse demolition todaypublished at 08:08 British Summer Time 4 October 2016

    Part of a farmhouse that wasn't built when Ben Needham went missing on the island of Kos is to be taken down.

    Det Insp Jon Cousins said: "Discussions I've had with the family that own the farmhouse have resulted in the fact that at some stage early afternoon I will be dismantling the lower part of the farmhouse." 

    Police from South Yorkshire are helping in the latest part of the search for Ben, who disappeared from the site in 1991. 

    He was on the island with his family as they were renovating the building.
