The shooting is the latest in a spate across the city since the start of the year but Det Ch Insp Steve Whittaker said: "We are aware that there are growing concerns in the local community and across Sheffield following a number of separate reported shootings."

    Quote Message

At this stage in our investigation, we don't believe the murder of Mr Al-Essaie is linked to any other reports in Sheffield but we will of course explore every available line of inquiry."

Officials are to due to make a decision on whether to act on a recommendation to close a North Yorkshire school ahead of schedule.

    Horton-in-Ribblesdale Primary School

Horton-in-Ribblesdale Primary School, near Settle, currently has just 15 pupils and it's forecast the number of children could fall to as low as six over the next five years.

The parish council hopes the school can stay open until the end of the academic year, rather than close in April as is currently scheduled.

    Jim Addyman
    BBC Local Live

Unpaid bills from so-called "health tourists" have cost hospital trusts across North Yorkshire nearly £1m over the last five years.

Most of that figure is owed to the South Tees NHS Foundation Trust which runs the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.

Harrogate has written off over £16,000 over the last five years. The Trust is also owed £50,000 for this financial year and £8,400 for the previous financial year.

The York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust which runs York and Scarborough hospitals is still owed more than £127,000.

Chief Executive Patrick Crowley believes the amount owed is a relatively small figure for an organisation with a turnover of £500m:

It's tough being a reporter at times, especially when I have to spend the morning at Cannon Hall Farm near Barnsley to see if there are any baby lambs.

No live births yet but if that changes I'll let you know!

Here's a video I took earlier of baby Roge who was born recently at the farm.
