    There's slow traffic on the A520 Windmill Hill in Rough Close, Staffordshire, at the A5005 Lightwood Road junction, because of a traffic light failure.

    Further disruption is expected at hospitals across the Midlands today as junior doctors take part in the second day of their 48-hour strike

    Dozens of operations and thousands of hospital appointments were cancelled yesterday. NHS England said Thursday was likely to prove "more challenging". 

    Today is the third strike over government plans for a new contract which makes changes to working hours and pay. Two more strikes are planned next month.

  4. No injuries in Stoke-on-Trent shopping centre break-inpublished at 09:26 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2016

    No-one was hurt in the break-in at the intu Potteries Shopping Centre in Stoke-on-Trent and the centre says it is open today, say the operators.

    In another tweet they say some areas of the site are restricted, external as police investigate.

  5. Watch: Stoke-on-Trent shopping centre sealed off after jewellers break-inpublished at 09:00 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2016

    Stoke-on-Trent's intu Potteries shopping centre has been sealed off by police this morning, external after a break-in. 

    Staffordshire Police say the break-in at Beaverbrooks Jewellers happened just after 02:35 today but it's not known yet what was taken. 

    The force says the offenders broke through the main glass front doors of the centre and started a fire there. 

    Officers say the centre will remain closed until "detailed forensic examination work" is completed.
