    Crewe Road in Sandbach has been closed in both directions because of an accident involving two cars.

    It's between the Park Lane junction and Newhall Avenue.

    We told you earlier about the unclaimed £1m EuroMillions lottery ticket that had been bought in the Newcastle-under-Lyme area - well, you can stop searching now as we're told it's been claimed.

    National Lottery earlier said the ticket related to their draw on 26 February.

  5. Thousands wasted as lorry-load of rubbish not recycled due to nappies and foodpublished at 13:27 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2016

    A lorry-load of recycling in Staffordshire was rejected, external - and incinerated instead - because residents had put unwanted rubbish in the load, according to a council.

    Stafford Borough Council says people are dumping nappies or food in their recycling bins which meant in this case the 18-tonne pile couldn't be recycled. 

    The authority says it's costing them thousands of pounds and warns that residents' blue bins will not be emptied if there are wrong items in the load. 

    They say that includes nappies, food, textiles or black bags, external.

    We'll hear from his trainer and look at how preparations are going for the festival on BBC One from 13:30.

  7. Football: Port Vale players 'paid for own hotel rooms' before Peterborough gamepublished at 12:53

    Port Vale manager Rob Page has revealed that some of his players paid for their own hotel rooms ahead of their 3-2 win at Peterborough on Saturday.

    Vale came from two goals down to win the game, meaning they stay within three points of the League One play-off places. 

    Page says the fact that some funded their own stay shows the character of his team.

    - Attacks on NHS staff in Staffordshire and Cheshire are unacceptable and need to be sorted out, according to unions

  9. Remembrance event to be held on Bosley explosion anniversarypublished at 12:15 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2016

    A memorial service is being planned to mark the one-year anniversary since the Bosley wood treatment plant explosion, which killed four people in July.

    A memorial service will be held in the village church on 17 July.  

    An investigation into the explosion is still on-going but, having revisited the area, the impact it's had on the community of Bosley is still felt by many.

    An unclaimed EuroMillions lottery ticket that could earn the winner £1m was bought in the Newcastle-under-Lyme area, external, it's been revealed.

    The National Lottery says a winner from it's Millionaire Maker draw on 26 February still hasn't claimed their prize. 

    They say ticket holder has until 24 August to claim or it will instead go to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.

    A Newcastle-under-Lyme boy has written to the prime minister asking why the NHS won't fund the physiotherapy he needs after an operation to treat his cerebral palsy.

    Ben Baddeley, 11, from Silverdale, had the operation privately following an £11,000 donation from a mystery benefactor. 

    His family has told BBC Radio Stoke it costs £2,000 a month for the follow-up physiotherapy treatment. 

    They're now waiting for a reply from Number 10 which hasn't yet commented. The NHS says treatment for his condition hasn't been routinely funded since 2013.

    A man's been seriously hurt after a crash between two motorbikes, external in Staffordshire.

    It happened yesterday morning near Swynnerton on the A51. 

    The motorcyclist, who's in his 30s, had multiple injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital. 

    West Midlands Ambulance Service say the other biker, a man in his 50s, suffered less serious injuries but was also taken to hospital for treatment.
