Staff at three council nurseries in Crewe aren't paid enough, external, according to Cheshire East Council.
The authority says the company that runs them, Safehands Limited, external, has been making big profits by cutting staff costs so it wants a not-for-profit organisation to take over.
But Ofsted says the care at The Brooks, external, Oak Tree, external and Monks Coppenhall, external nurseries are all "good" and the company insists its staff are paid well.
