  2. Fly-tipping fines could rise by 60% in Crewepublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 10 June 2016

    As part of plans to get tough on fly-tippers in Crewe, external, fines could rise by as much as 60%, according to Cheshire East Council.

    The authority is drawing up proposals for a "hard-hitting campaign" as part of a long-term crackdown. 

    It says the initiative would primarily focus on Crewe - where the council say fly-tipping is a particular problem, as a video I filmed in the town from earlier this year shows.

    Butland is missing the tournament after fracturing his ankle in the friendly win over Germany in March but believes a repeat of that performance will stand his country in good stead.

    Cheshire Police say they are putting on more patrols on "key dates" to stop any trouble flaring during the tournament.

    Across Staffordshire and Cheshire, 73 people who have football banning orders have surrendered their passports to their respective police force so they can't travel.

    Residents of Nantwich were basking in the country's hottest temperatures yesterday, according to our BBC Weather colleagues.

    They tweeted this morning that yesterday the town saw a UK high of 24.6C (76.28F).
