  2. Man injured after car collision in Stoke-on-Trentpublished at 10:21 British Summer Time 27 July 2016

    A man has been injured after a collision with a car this morning in Stoke-on-Trent, police say.

    Staffordshire Police say the man was conscious when they arrived on the A527 James Brindley Way in Tunstall after being called at 04:41.

    The man was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital and his injuries aren't thought to be life-changing. 

    Officers say the driver of a Nissan Note was left "shaken and upset" and they've closed the road for several hours as they investigate.

    The public have their chance today to get in and see the cheeses on show at Nantwich's international cheese festival. Judging for the International Cheese Awards took place yesterday and now the annual event on the town's showground is open to all.

  4. Islamic Centre damaged in burglary at Keele Universitypublished at 09:31 British Summer Time 27 July 2016

    A man has been arrested after four buildings at Keele University, including the Islamic Centre, were damaged in a burglary.

    Staffordshire Police, external say they were called last Thursday morning after an alarm went off - an office, a bar and nursery were also targeted.

    The force say damage was caused and items stolen. 

    Officers arrested a 27-year-old man from Newcastle-under-Lyme on suspicion of burglary and he's been bailed while their investigation continues.

  10. M6 lorry fire: One lane re-opened on northbound carriagewaypublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 26 July 2016

    The outside lane of the M6 northbound has been re-opened passing the scene of the lorry fire near Great Barr, the Central Motorway Police Group says.

    Lanes one and two will need further work after the damage from the flames.

    Parcels ordered from retail giant Amazon could soon be delivered by drones. 

    They are testing the idea in partnership with the government. 

    The company - which has a depot in Rugeley - says it would eventually mean small parcels would arrive within 30 minutes of being ordered online.

  15. M6 lorry fire: Highways England estimates traffic will take two hours to return to normalpublished at 09:17 British Summer Time 26 July 2016

    Highways England says the lorry fire is on the northbound carriageway and the southbound carriageway has now reopened.

    Current estimates are that traffic will return to normal by 11:15.

    The M6 is blocked and there is stationary traffic in both directions between J6, for the Aston Expressway, and J7, for Great Barr, because of a lorry fire, drivers are warned.
