    The family of a five-year-old boyfrom Staffordshire, who drowned at a waterpark, has accused the police of a "lack of compassion".

    Charlie Dunn, from Tamworth, died at the Bosworth Water Park, in Leicestershire, on Saturday.

    Leicestershire Police arrested Charlie's mother Lynsey and his stepfather Paul not long after he died on suspicion of manslaughter by gross negligence.

    Charlie's step-grandmother Sharon Robinson says: "They needed each other that day they needed to comfort each other."

    A number of learner drivers in Stoke-on Trent have told BBC Radio Stoke they're frustrated at long delays in taking their tests. 

    They say they're having to wait between three and four months, rather than a few weeks, due to a shortage of examiners.

    The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, external says it acknowledges waiting times are currently higher than it would like in some locations.

    It adds it will continue with further examiner recruitment campaigns throughout 2016.

  4. Permanent base wanted for cerebral palsy football teampublished at 17:14 British Summer Time 25 July 2016

    A father who set up a team for his football-mad son who has cerebral palsy says he hopes to move it to a permanent base. 

    Tony Liversage formed Stafford Town Cerebral Palsy FC for his eight-year-old son Jude, and now has up to 20 players registered.

    Jude's love of football had meant travelling with his dad to play in Oldham, Greater Manchester, before the team was created in Stafford. 

    Tony says he wants to get them relocated to Keele University in Staffordshire.

    The step-grandmother of a five-year-old boy from Tamworth, Staffordshire, who drowned at a waterpark, says she's devastated by the death.

    Sharon Robinson explained how her son and Charlie's mother were packing up the car ready to go home when Charlie was pulled out of the water at Bosworth Water Park.

    A woman from Staffordshire has told BBC Radio Stoke she fears for her five-year-old son's safety after she says he was subjected to racist abuse.

    Nina, who doesn't want her son to be named, claims he's been getting racist remarks hurled at him at school for several years, since he was four years old.

    The school involved has told us it doesn't tolerate harassment of any kind and it tackles discrimination by challenging bullying and championing respect.

    The police say there were a series of crimes reported in and around the Audlem, Woore and Norton-in-Hales areas before a police pursuit which ended with one man dying in a crash on the A53.

    Elizabeth Huntbach, from Audlem, told BBC Radio Shropshire her son Norman Huntbach was run over last night.

    She said he had tried to stop men stealing his forklift truck and was left with a serious knee injury and a wound to his arm.

    Cheshire Police believes the same car was involved in this incident and the police pursuit.

    The Reds have accepted the offer as Allen only has one year left on his contract at Anfield.

    The Independent Police Complaints Commission says it was the driver of a Vauxhall Corsa who died after being in collision with another car near Newcastle-under-Lyme last night.

    It's investigating because the Corsa was being followed on the A53 by a West Mercia Police vehicle at the time.
