    The Lichfield diocese has been without a bishop for over a year, but now Bishop Michael is about to take on the role and he's decided to walk a Pilgrimage from Stoke to Lichfield to mark his arrival.

    Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says he will find out over the next few games if his side can handle the pressure of being a top-three club

    The Alex have lost just one of their eight league games this season after they were relegated to League Two in May. 

    Davis told BBC Radio Stoke he doesn't know how his players are going to react at being at the other end of the league table.

    Stoke City's assistant manager Mark Bowen said the team's bad luck has to change soon. 

    The club are without a win in the Premier League, bottom of the table and have conceded the most goals.

    Fire crews are dealing with a blaze at Stafford's Household Waste and Recycling Centre.

    Staffordshire Fire and Rescue says a large skip full of used electrical items was well alight , externalwhen they were called to the St Albans Road site at about 14:20. 

    The incident is continuing but it's not yet clear if anyone has been injured.

    Staffordshire Police is appealing for the public to report any sightings of a missing man.

    Grant Blacker, from the London Road area, external of Newcastle-under-Lyme, was reported missing this morning. The 22-year-old was last seen last night.

    Police have provided a description and a picture of him.

    He's described as white, 6ft 6in tall with a medium build. He has short, brown hair with highlights on top, blue eyes and a pale complexion.

    A fire investigation is under way after a chalet blaze near Nantwich in the early hours of this morning.

    Four fire crews were called to Sound Lane in Sound, external around 15:30. 

    A person in the chalet was alerted to the fire by smoke alarms and got out.

  17. Passenger still in 'unstable condition' after collision with carpublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 20 September 2016

    A motorbike passenger is still in an "unstable condition" a week after a collision with a car in Stoke-on-Trent. 

    Police say the 26 year old - who's from the city - suffered serious head injuries in the crash, external on Beaconsfield Drive in Blurton. 

    The bike's rider is due to be released from hospital shortly.

    A Cheshire man says his stolen contactless card is being used eight months after he cancelled it - and there's nothing he can do.   

    Computer programmer Justin Robson, from Congleton, says he found his card was being used in Stoke-on-Trent.

    His bank the Halifax admits it can't always block contactless payments, external made offline, but they are isolated incidents and Mr Robson's money has been refunded, plus compensation.
