    Charges are being introduced from next month in Staffordshire , externalfor getting rid of DIY and landscaping waste at the county council's recycling centres. 

    The authority says taking big bags of soil or rubble to its recycling centres will cost £3, plasterboard will be £4 a sheet and tyres will cost £4 each.

    The county council says waste from things like DIY, home improvements or "extensive landscaping of gardens " isn't legally seen as household rubbish.

    From 1 November it will charge to cover the cost of processing it and it will be applied at all the authority's waste recycling centres.

    Thousands of pounds of tools and vehicles have been stolen, external in two separate break-ins in Newcastle-under-Lyme. 

    Staffordshire Police say three people broke in to Staffordshire 4x4 on the Parkhouse Industrial Estate on 28 September.

    They stole around £30k worth of tools as well as two Land Rovers. 

    The same thieves also targeted Treadcare Tyre Services on the same night and took thousands of pounds worth of tools and vehicle-related equipment, officers say.

    A Staffordshire expert says if people are seeing more wasps in the county this month, it's because of the weather conditions. 

    A number of BBC Radio Stoke listeners contacted the radio station to say they'd seen a larger number of the insects around than usual.

    Dr Dave Skingsley from Staffordshire University , externalsays the change in temperature in October after a relatively warm September's triggered a change in their behaviour. 

    He says when the queen has had enough sustenance to last the winter, she leaves the nest and goes off to hibernate - leaving the workers both out of a job and addicted to sweet things.

    Burton Albion have fitness concerns over John Brayford and John Mousinho ahead of their game this weekend at Wigan Athletic.

    Brayford has a groin injury sustained in the 3-1 loss to Norwich last month, while fellow defender Mousinho recently returned after a hamstring problem, but missed the 2-0 win over Cardiff.

    Burton won this exact fixture 1-0 back in League One in the 2015-16 campaign; a season in which both sides claimed promotion to the Championship.

    An investigation's found the Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is among the most expensive hospital trusts in England when it comes to car parking charges. 

    The research by the Press Association news agency found the trust, which runs Leighton Hospital in Crewe, charges £3 for a one-hour stay., external

    Across England, the highest charge for a one-hour stay was £4. The investigation also found a third of hospital trusts have increased their parking charges in the last year.

    Motorway police are warning "car cloning" appears to be on the rise in the West Midlands.

    As politicians talk about the issue of stillbirth and the loss of newborn babies in parliament, one Staffordshire mother who had a stillborn baby says she still talks about her daughter.

    Rosie Felton, 23, carried two daughters - Ella-Rose, who is now nine weeks old, and her big sister Layla, who was born two years earlier. Layla was stillborn.

    Telling BBC Newsbeat the story of the days and hours leading up to Layla's birth, she says: "I feel like my heart's being pulled out but in a way, I find it easier to talk about it every time."

    In parliament Cheshire Conservative MP Antoinette Sandbach, who lost her five-day-old son in 2009, described this as the "most devastating" event a parent can suffer.

    A man from Stoke-on-Trent has been sentenced to life in prison as police describe how he drowned his 69-year-old housemate in the bath. , external

    Raymond Till, 61, from Victoria Road in Fenton murdered Keith Tunstall at their home on 27 June 2015.

    Staffordshire Police say that, after being called to the property, officers were led to the bathroom where they found the partially clothed body of Mr Tunstall in the bath. 

    Officers say the two men had known each other for around 40 years and had shared a house for two years.

    At Stafford Crown Court, Raymond Till was given a life sentence with a minimum term of 18 years after being found guilty of murder.
