    Stoke City 1-2 Chelsea

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger, BBC Radio 5 live

You've got to say Stoke have defended so well today but as that corner came in they fell asleep.

It's a slight deflection - you have got to feel sorry for Stoke.

They go mad in the dugout!

  8. Postpublished at 16:36 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Stoke City 1-1 Chelsea

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger, BBC Radio 5 live

Stoke are well organised, well drilled and one or two players look very comfortable in possession but, after the third or fourth pass, it seems to break down too easily.

I'm surprised Mark Hughes hasn't put a couple of subs on to freshen it up.

  9. 'Stoke need to work on set-pieces'published at 16:33 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Stoke City 1-1 Chelsea

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger, BBC Radio 5 live

Mark Hughes and his team need to work on set pieces.

How many times do we see their corners and free kicks either hit the first man or go all the way over the last one?!

  10. 'Luiz has looked brilliant'published at 16:28 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Stoke City 1-1 Chelsea

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger, BBC Radio 5 live

It's been all Chelsea this half. They are dominating.

David Luiz has looked brilliant today and there has not been any pressure on them since the whistle.

  11. 'Stoke are now falling off the pace'published at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Stoke City 1-1 Chelsea

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger, BBC Radio 5 live

More football being played this half and it's Chelsea who are popping it around a lot more.

They are in control and Stoke are now falling off the pace. Not a lot happening here.

    Stoke City 1-1 Chelsea

    Chris Waddle

Good start by Stoke this half already.

I just hope both teams concentrate on the game rather than trying to get each other booked.

I just want to see a good half of football now.

Scott Costa’s technical ability as a player is great, but his attitude and behaviour on the pitch is staggeringly awful.

David Simpson: If I were a Chelsea fan, I'd say to him what I tell my U9 team. "Stay on your feet, you can't help us on the floor!"

Jon Connor: Stoke's game plan - Kick Chelsea off the park it seems!

  14. 'The manager needs to have a word'published at 15:44 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Stoke City 1-1 Chelsea

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger, BBC Radio 5 live

We are coming up now to half-time and the manager has got to have a word with Costa because he is going to be a shown another yellow soon...

It's a great atmosphere here - the Stoke fans are truly pumped up!

Everything is revolving around Diego Costa today. He is very much the pantomime villain.

  15. 'Stoke are second best'published at 15:34 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Stoke City 0-1 Chelsea

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger, BBC Radio 5 live

You've got to say Stoke are second best in all areas of the park and they really have been giving the ball away so cheaply, but Chelsea are full of confidence and can look after it when it's theirs.

Having said that, Diego Costa is going to get himself a red card if he keeps going this way.

  16. 'He needs to concentrate on his football'published at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2017

    Stoke City 0-1 Chelsea

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger, BBC Radio 5 live

I've just seen a replay of that dive from Diego Costa and it is absolutely ridiculous - it warranted that yellow card on its own.

He is trying to unsettle anyone in a red and white shirt but he has to concentrate on his football because at the moment he is not helping his team-mates.

Oh, Lee Grant has fallen asleep there. That is a poor goal to give away.

Unfortunately it was a promising start by Stoke.

Stoke defender Glen Johnson is absent with a shoulder problem but Marko Arnautovic should return after missing out in midweek because of illness.

Xherdan Shaqiri is back after a six-match absence, while Wilfried Bony, who was ineligible against Manchester City, is available.

Chelsea will assess a couple of unnamed injury doubts prior to Saturday's game.

Wing-back Victor Moses is expected to be available despite being substituted against Manchester United on Monday.
