    A Staffordshire woman says she wants to be compensated - after waiting in for a parcel collection company for two days.

    Jackie Thomas, from Gnosall, paid delivery firm Yodel to collect two packages she had sold on eBay.

    She told me the company said it had actually left two delivery notices because she was out - but, having waited in all day, she says that didn't happen.

    Yodel says it's very sorry to hear about the problems Jackie experienced and would like to apologise.

    It adds she's now been fully refunded.

    Business owners on a street in Hanley are reacting angrily to continuing roadworks in the city.

    Shop owners along Stafford Street say no work has taken place in front of their premises for many weeks, but the barriers are scaring away potential customers.

    Stoke-on-Trent City Council says the work is running slightly behind schedule but it still hopes it will be completed on time.

    Good news for train passengers travelling on the Chase railway line this morning.

    The line between Rugeley and Walsall has reopened after two weeks of upgrades which left passengers on bus replacement services.

    An off-duty nurse has been praised for coming to the aid of five people who were hurt in a car crash in Staffordshire. , external

    The fire service says Danielle Wright from Birmingham was driving past the scene on the the A38 near Barton-under-Needwood in May when she pulled over.

    A car had come off Catholme Lane, Wychnor, and hit a bridge, leaving four of the victims lying in the road and one still in the car.

    The service says the nurse monitored the driver, who was most seriously injured, and then worked alongside paramedics when they arrived.

    This week she was presented with an official commendation by the service.

    An updated route's been confirmed, external for a planned 100-mile cycle ride which will travel through Staffordshire next month.

    The Velo Birmingham, which will start and finish in the city in 24 September, will this year go through 20 miles of Staffordshire for the first time.

    Organisers say riders will go through villages such as Kinver and Wombourne and past landmarks like Kinver Edge.

    They say they've tried to resolve issues over road closures and 250,000 letters have been sent to residents along the route, advising them on which routes will shut.

    A cat's expected to make a full recovery after getting impaled on metal railings in Staffordshire, external.

    Staffordshire Fire Service was called on Wednesday afternoon to Gordon Street, Burton-upon-Trent, and gave the animal oxygen through a special mask while officers waited for a vet.

    They say the cat, one-year-old Gizmo, was then safely removed and given treatment.
