    The RSPCA says it won’t be taking action after a man seen on video throwing a sheep into a Staffordshire field handed himself in.

    An appeal for information was issued this week by the charity, external after the social media post provoked complaints.

    Officials say they’ve now found the farmer who owns the sheep.

    The charity says on inspection, the sheep in question didn’t appear to be injured, although it is being treated for foot rot which is why it could appear lame.

    The video, filmed near Stoke-on-Trent, had sparked fears that the sheep had suffered a broken leg as a result of the incident.

    Thousands of pounds of cash and cannabis and cocaine with a street value of more than £10,000, external have been seized in a raid this morning in Stoke-on-Trent.

    Officers arrested a 44-year-old-man and 39-year-old woman on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply and possession of criminal property.

    In one case there are delays of over three hours from junction 14 of the M6 northbound near Stafford after a spillage of fizzy drinks near Stoke-on-Trent.

    People only have until Wednesday to have their say on plans for a new freight rail hub on land off the M6 in Staffordshire.

    Developers Four Ashes Limited says they want to make sure as many have their say as possible on the West Midlands Interchange proposals before midnight on 30 August., external

    The idea of the site is to link to the motorway and the West Coast Mainline allowing the transfer goods between lorries and trains.

    It is earmarked for land west of junction 12, near the village of Gailey.

    The firm says they've heard from almost 1,000 people since the consultation started on 5 July over five exhibitions.

    Hundreds and hundreds of bottles of fizzy pop have spilled across the M6.

    Highways England says the collision, between junctions 15 and 16 earlier, forced two northbound lanes to be shut.

    They say they're using a vehicle they'd normally use to scoop salt up to clear the drinks away but there are severe delays of over three hours from junction 14, external, Stafford North.

    Disruption between Rugeley and Walsall for train passengers is set to end, but only at the end of the bank holiday weekend.

    The Chase line is being electrified by Network Rail in a £100m project, external and, since 13 August, foundation works have taken place on the line.

    A former headteacher has been banned from teaching after he admitted changing answers on test papers to try and keep an "outstanding" Ofsted rating.

    A report from the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL), external says Alan Prince told them he altered the SATs papers of 26 pupils in their mental maths tests at Wistaston Church Lane Academy in Crewe.

    The professional conduct panel of the NCTL , externalsay they heard evidence Mr Prince was alone with the papers after the exam in May 2015.

    Mr Prince resigned from the academy amid the allegations last year and is now indefinitely banned from teaching.

    The academy has been approached for a comment but hasn't yet responded.

    The new signs will be displayed on all accessible toilets throughout London Midland's 43 stations.

    Dan McLean, from Crohn’s and Colitis UK, said it was a great step towards "reducing stigma and raising awareness that not every disability is visible".

    A bank holiday weekend is on the cards for many of us so if you're planning on moving around the region be aware that you may face some disruption on both roads and rail.

    Though most roadworks in the country are being lifted that will not be the case on the M6 at Spaghetti Junction and the M5 at the Oldbury viaduct.

    The work there is considered too vital to stop.

    Rail passengers will also face problems when London Euston closes, external on Saturday and Sunday as upgrade works take place.

    Disruption continues on the Chase railway line until Tuesday, affecting passengers in Rugeley, Hednesford and Cannock areas.

    A post-mortem examination failed to prove how she died.
