BreakingA woman has been found guilty of murdering her mother in Cheadle.
Staffordshire Police said Charlene Sargeant, 24, initially told emergency services that 53-year-old Rocky Sargeant had cut her own throat at the home they shared.
When emergency crews arrived they found the mother lying on the floor with a knife in her hand.

Charlene Sargeant will be sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on 26 October.

The Royal Stoke Hospital says it can cope with extra patients when Telford's accident and emergency department closes overnight.
The Princess Royal Hospital A&E is shutting for at least six months, while the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust deals with staff shortages and the leader of Wolverhampton Council has warned this will place a strain on surrounding hospitals.
But Dr Chris Pickering, the clinical director at the Stoke-on-Trent hospital said it should be possible to manage, although it would be inconvenient for some patients.

About 20,000 people are expected to visit the Stone food and drink festival over this weekend, with the event chairman claiming the town has become the national "food and drink capital".
It is held at Westbridge Park and has taken place every October since 2004.
Festival chairman Richard Stevens also said the event had been a big boost for the local economy and had brought other food and drink businesses to the town.

Men from Wigan and Liverpool held over mother-of-four murderpublished at 13:22 British Summer Time 5 October 2018
Two men from Wigan and Liverpool have been arrested on suspicion of murder over the death of a mother-of-four in Stoke-on-Trent.
Avan Najmadeen, 32, died from multiple stab wounds after police found her at her home in Glebedale Road, Fenton, at about 17:00 on Monday.
The men, both aged 33, are being held for questioning, along with a 35-year-old man, also from Wigan, who was arrested on Wednesday.
