    Representatives from Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire have agreed to further talks about a joint bid for East Anglian devolution.

    Following a meeting with the local government secretary Greg Clark this morning, all sides agreed that progress has been made. 

    I am told that an agreement in principle is likely to be in place within weeks.

  3. Pig statue tribute to Ed Sheeranpublished at 12:02 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2016

    A pig-shaped tribute to Ed Sheeran is to be created as part of an art trail in Ipswich.

    The singer/songwriter honed his skills in the town, having grown up 20 miles away in Framlingham, before going on to be a global superstar.

    The porcine statue, named Ed Sheer Ham, will be one of about 40 sculptures scattered around Ipswich this summer as part of the Pigs Gone Wild, external trail in the summer.

  5. Residents back Waveney's decision to pull out of deal for former Sanyo sitepublished at 10:47 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2016

    People living close to the former Sanyo site in Lowestoft say they're pleased that Waveney Council is to pull out of a deal to buy it.

    Supporters of local businessman Peter Colby say it now opens the way for his plan, which involves setting up industrial units as well as building some new homes, to be submitted instead.

    Residents told me they're "very pleased", that they thought the council hadn't listened to them, and that there was too much red tape. We've contacted the council for their reaction, and will bring it to you when we receive it.

    An absconder from Hollesley Bay who went missing on 27 January, has been arrested in Hertfordshire, external.
