    Experts who have spent the last three years studying the lost Suffolk city of Dunwich, have traced its history further back than ever before.

    Bill Jenman, project manager with Touching the Tide, external, a three-year scheme funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, says: "We found iron age pottery, that's like 500BC, and right back to some neolithic flint work that's probably 1,000 - 1,500BC.

    "I think we can push the story of Dunwich certainly back to the Iron Age, we know people were here back into the Stone Age and we know it was a fairly major town in the Anglo-Saxon period."

    A winding up order, external against Ipswich Town Football Club, external, which it's been revealed came from Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC), has been dismissed at the High Court.

    At a brief hearing, the counsel for HMRC said the club had now settled the debt and asked for the case to be dismissed. The club's representative made the same request.

    The amount of the debt remains a mystery.

    The wife of Mildenhall man Simon Dobbin, who was left with life-changing brain injuries after an assault in Southend last March, says it's been "totally and utterly devastating".

    Nicole Dobbin told BBC Suffolk: "Simon is alive but doesn't have a life, our futures are completely changed. We’ve missed quite a lot over the year, and it's been really heartbreaking."

    Preparations are being made to get the family home ready for Mr Dobbin's return from hospital, which it's hoped will take place later this week.

    Ipswich Town's managing director has told BBC Suffolk that a "winding-up" order for the club on a Ministry of Justice list, external is a "storm in a teacup".

    Ian Milne says the listing relates to a court petition for non-payment issued between Christmas and the new year by one of the club's service providers, despite agreement that payment would be made during early January.

    He said: "The creditor subsequently withdrew the petition on receipt of payment and this will be dismissed at the hearing today. It's the way the court system deals with these things."

    Former Hadleigh bowler Reece Topley drew a blank as England were comprehensively beaten in the second T20 international against South Africa.

    The 22-year-old went for 32 runs off his two overs as the home side cruised to a nine-wicket win in Johannesburg, to win the series 2-0.

    England were using the matches as preparation for next month's World T20 in India.

    Evidence of violent storms that corroborates historical evidence about what led to Dunwich being destroyed has been discovered.

    In the 11th Century Dunwich was the 10th largest town in Britain, but now has a population of about 120 people.

    The family of a west Suffolk football fan, who was seriously injured in an assault almost a year ago, is getting ready to welcome him home.

    Simon Dobbin, who supports Cambridge United, was left with life-changing brain injuries when he was assaulted following his team's away game at Southend United last March.

    He's currently being treated at hospital, but preparations are under way to prepare his Mildenhall home for his return.

    The managing director of Ipswich Town has told BBC Suffolk he believes a "winding up" order that's appeared on a Ministry of Justice list, external refers to "a matter that's already been resolved".

    Ian Milne was responding after the listing was highlighted on a discussion thread, external on the independent news site TWTD.

    He says he believes it relates to a debt that was paid before Christmas.
