    Ipswich Town defender Christophe Berra was the Blues top scorer in the early stages of last season, but this time around the goals have dried up for the Scotland international.

    However, the 31-year-old is confident he can return to the scoresheet if he keeps putting in the hard work in training. 

    "Maybe I'm a marked man!" joked Berra ahead of tomorrow's match with Nottingham Forest. "I've not had many opportunities of late to be fair, but I would like a goal soon."

    A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of careless driving, after a lorry went into the side of a house in Woolpit this morning.

    No-one has been injured. The Street has been closed to allow recovery work to take place.

  4. Post-mortem test reveals horse found in Hollesley field 'had not been shot'published at 13:06 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2016

    The discovery of a horse found dead in a field at Hollesley is now not being treated as a suspicious incident, after inquiries by police officers revealed the animal had not been shot.

    It was initially thought the wound had been caused by a gun or a similar device however, following further inquiries and a post-mortem test at the scene this morning, it has now been determined that the injury was not as originally reported to police.

    Suffolk FA Ladies are East Anglian Counties Champions following last night's 2-1 win over Kent.

    Hollie Clement and Paige Shorten (pictured) were both on target as Emma Manning's side went on to lift the Fred Welham Cup at Brantham Leisure Centre.

    "From the start I knew I had a good strong squad," Manning said. "They gelled from day one and I couldn't have asked for anything more from them."

    A horse has been shot dead in a field at Hollesley.

    Officers were contacted around 16:50 yesterday, after a dog walker found the dead male pony in the field off Box Hall Lane and alerted the horse's owner.

    The pony was found to have a shot wound to its head. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to get in touch with police, external.

    Hollie Clement and Paige Shorten were on the scoresheet last night, as Suffolk FA Ladies won the East Anglian Counties Championship.

    Emma Manning's side beat Kent by 2 goals to 1 at Brantham Leisure Centre to cap an excellent first season in charge for the 29-year-old.

    "You set the standard from the first game," Manning said. "The players have been excellent and I'm really really chuffed."

    Suffolk's Peter Wright lost his first match in this year's Premier League of Darts, external last night.

    The 45-year-old from Mendham was thrashed 7-2 by former world champion Michael Van Gerwen. 

    Van Gerwen, the world number one, now tops the table with Wright down to 3rd, just a point behind.

    The Ipswich Town Supporters Club, external say it appears most fans are not concerned by a rise in their season ticket prices.

    Tim Edwards says he checked out social media to see reaction to the 1.5% rise: "I really fully expected that there'd be an awful lot of people being very very critical and simply that doesn't seem to be the case.

    "The vast majority of fans seem to be saying £6 a year, I pay it by direct debit, that's 50p a month, I can probably take that."

    RAF Lakenheath say the crew of an F-15 fighter jet was "momentarily disorientated" after a laser beam was shone at the plane as it came in to land at night.

    A powerful green laser beam was shone at it, apparently by someone on the ground.

    Ipswich Town have been criticised by some of their supporters in recent weeks for the standard of football they have produced.

    But ahead of tomorrow's match with Nottingham Forest, defender Christophe Berra has reminded fans the Blues have come a long way since November 2012, when they propped up the table. 

    "It's the third year in a row now that we've been fighting promotion," Berra said. "We're not world beaters and we need to remember where we've come from."

    • 10:41 - Waveney Council tell us: " "We are always considering a variety of different ways to protect services and address financial challenges, but to suggest that any plans are in place, or that they are at an advanced stage, is simply untrue."

    The 1.5% increase in Ipswich Town season ticket prices is "reasonable", the club's managing director says.

    Ian Milne told BBC Suffolk: "We've tried to be fair in season ticket prices, we do have our bills, but we thought a reasonable peg would be the retail price index."

    He also said there'll be no increase in match day prices and that they will "fall in line" with what supporters have been paying this year.
