Staying dry tonight with largely clear skies and light winds. Temperatures will only drop to 13C (55F).   

Tuesday will be another dry day with almost unbroken strong sunshine. The southeasterly breeze will freshen, keeping it somewhat cooler on the coast, but inland it will feel hot and humid with temperatures potentially as high as 33C (91F).

Rail passengers between Norwich and London are being advised to check before they travel ahead of improvement work this autumn and winter to deliver vital railway upgrades for the Crossrail programme and remove long-standing heat-related speed restrictions.

The work will affect Abellio Greater Anglia trains into Liverpool Street on eight weekends from Saturday 17 September to Sunday 6 November, and will continue for a further 10 days over the Christmas and New Year period.

The work programme includes the remodelling of a key junction at Shenfield to help deliver more reliable journeys for passengers by May 2017.  

More overhead wires will be replaced between Shenfield and Liverpool Street to help reduce the impact of heat-related disruption during the summer when overhead wires sag and speed restrictions are imposed.

Network Rail spokesman Richard Schofield said: "We understand the inconvenience and disruption that closing the railway causes but the initial and longer-term benefits for passengers are huge."

After a strong display by Lowestoft boxer Anthony Ogogo this weekend, the Suffolk fighter has questioned whether the referee should have stepped in to stop the bout sooner than he did.

Ogogo (pictured after a previous fight) had knocked down his opponent, Czech veteran Bronislav Kubin, a number of times before the bout was eventually called off in the second round.

The 27-year old said: "I thought the referee was a bit brutal to be honest with you, he kept sending him out there to carry on.

"I was so dominant, there were no belts on the line, there were no titles on the line. 

"I put him down I think five times all together, after the second, third time, the referee could have said, you know he's had enough."

The NHS mental health trust for Norfolk and Suffolk, placed in special measures by a care watchdog, has announced plans to cut 90 posts.

The Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust wants to cut its deficit from £8.9m in 2015-16 to £6.1m in 2016-17.

The trust says in its report it hopes most posts can be cut through "non-essential" vacant posts being left unfilled. But union Unison said it would have a "dramatic impact on services".

Lowestoft middlewight boxer Anthony Ogogo (pictured after an earlier bout) was back in action this weekend as he made short work of Czech veteran Bronislav Kubin within two rounds.

It's Ogogo's third win since May as he continues his come back from injury and 37-year-old Kubin was unable to withstand the onslaught on the bill in Berlin.

The 2012 Olympic bronze medal winner said: "I felt great, I felt really good, I felt like probably my best performance to date."

On stopping his opponent the 27-year old added: "I think what I showed more than anything was good composure. 

"In the past when I have forced a stoppage, I've got a bit too excited when I've landed a good shot."

Mendham's Peter "Snakebite" Wright is progressing in the World Matchplay Darts, external in Blackpool, but has concerns about his form. 

He beat Joe Cullen 10-5 last night and will face Ian White in the second round tomorrow.

He said: "I'm one of those players, you can be on fire one minute and the following day you wake up and you dunno how to throw. 

"It's gone, and it will go for a week."

We brought you the story earlier of the Felixstowe kiosk/cafe owner who's warned parents over their children's tantrums, and asked for your thoughts.

Several of you have emailed us:

• Liz Palmer says: "I think that this is wonderful, I am so sick of screaming children everywhere I go. You try to go for a quiet drink or meal and can virtually guarantee that at some point the peace will be shattered by a badly behaved child. I wish I lived nearer as she would definitely get my custom."
• Sarah Cooper writes: "What gives anyone the right to comment on how any child is brought up?"

And we've also had an email from a woman who's asked to remain anonymous as she fears a backlash "as big as the lady who posted the comment". 

Among the points she makes: "I sympathise with the lady in the kiosk. Having worked in a shop where parents will allow children to run wild and break things and not care, I can see where she's coming from. "

An advertised job for a dedicated hedgehog officer to encourage animal numbers in Ipswich has sparked worldwide interest.

Scores of applications for the two-year post of hedgehog officer - with an annual salary of £24,000 - flooded in to Suffolk Wildlife Trus, externalt.

It drew attention from many countries including Taiwan, where the job was mistakenly touted as paying over £2.4m.

Fulham are being linked with a move, external for Ipswich Town centre-half Tommy Smith, while Blackburn and Reading are also said to be showing interest in the 26-year-old.

A motorbike rider is in a critical condition in Addenbrooke's Hospital, following a three-vehicle collision on the A137 in Wherstead yesterday afternoon.

The collision involved a pink Ford Fiesta travelling south, and two motorcycles travelling north towards Ipswich.

The car driver and other motorbike rider sustained minor injuries.

Police would like to hear from any witnesses.

A cafe owner has said she will speak to children having a tantrum if "parents are too scared to discipline their children".

South Kiosk in Felixstowe posted on Facebook it would give parents "five lenient minutes to ask the child to stop screaming" before stepping in.

It received hundreds of comments and has since deleted its page.

Owner Kim Christofi said she was child friendly but some parents "left me with no option but to have a quiet word".

Suffolk's cricketers, external have managed to bowl out their opponents Lincolnshire on the second day of their three day match in Cleethorpes.

The hosts scored 307 runs giving them a lead of 163. 

Matt Salisbury had Suffolk's best figures with the ball taking four wickets from 24 overs.

There was a big surprise at the World Matchplay Darts, external in Blackpool last night as Ipswich-born Mervyn King beat world number six James Wade 10-5.

Despite causing an upset, King wasn't happy to have defeated someone he considers a close friend. He said: "It's not nice to beat one of your best mates.

"James is a fantastic player, he's a good friend, but he wasn't on it tonight."

Raymond van Barneveld or Brendan Dolan will be King's opponent in the second round.

Two of the exhibits in the Pigs Gone Wild, external art trail in Ipswich have been so badly damaged, they've had to be taken away for repair.

Speaking about the damage to the Only Fools & Horses-related Trotters Pig at Giles Circus, Norman Lloyd said: "We're disappointed it's got damaged, which meant the pig has had to come off the plinth for safety's sake to be assessed and repaired. 

"We would perhaps understand if someone had sat on it and damaged it, but it hasn't happened that way. 

"Someone has deliberately heeled the pig and done this damage."

The Hedgepig has also been temporarily removed from Dial Lane.
