  1. Travel: A14 blocked westbound at Newmarketpublished at 12:44 British Summer Time 18 July 2016

    The A14 is blocked and there's queuing traffic westbound between the Rowley Mile Services in Newmarket, and J36 (A1303 Nine Mill Hill) in Six Mile Bottom, because of an accident involving a lorry and several other vehicles.

  2. Travel: A12 closed northbound near Bredfieldpublished at 12:13 British Summer Time 18 July 2016

    Police tell us that the A12 is closed northbound at Bredfield, north of Woodbridge, following a three-vehicle collision. 

    Emergency services are on the scene, although it's not thought any of the injuries are serious.

    There's queuing traffic on the A12 southbound between the A1095 junction in Blythburgh, and Bramfield Turning in Darsham. 

    It's the same situation on the exit slip road on the A14 westbound in Ipswich at J55 (A1214 Copdock).

    Before the South Kiosk at Martello Park Facebook page was taken down, several people had responded to the post.

    Here's part of what some people had to say:

    • "As a parent with autistic children the screaming was not because they were in a tantrum it would have appeared to be to those not in the know, but because they were scared and unsettled"
    • "You have set up a kiosk down a children's park. You are NOT repeat NOT allowed to speak to anyone else's child like that"
    • "Unfortunately the backlash was inevitable. From a business perspective it may have been a dubious decision to comment but I understand the sentiment"

  5. Cafe owner posts Facebook message telling parents to deal with children having tantrums or they'll intervenepublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 18 July 2016

    A seafront cafe owner in Felixstowe who posted a message saying they would speak to children having a tantrum if their parents weren't handling the problem, says she stands by her comments.

    Kim Christofi, from the South Kiosk at Martello Park, wrote in a post (before her Facebook account was deleted):

    "Can we make ourselves perfectly clear to all parents who are too scared to discipline their children about tantrum screaming.

    "We will give you five lenient minutes to ask the child to stop screaming and then we will ask the child ourselves.

    "If that means you too having a tantrum about our having to speak to your child and hurling threats about not returning - that's really okay with us.

    "We have a duty of care to the rest of our customers."

    After six weeks away from West Row, the Mildenhall Fen Tigers, external returned in fantastic form as they beat Isle of Wight 62-28 yesterday.

    There was a comeback for promoter Kevin Jolly after he took some time away from the sport.

    Speaking to the club website Jolly said: "It was great to be back on track at home today and the lads responded in style. 

    "If they can ride like this regularly we can surely beat anyone anywhere. From one to seven they were excellent."

    Let's take a look at some of the sporting stories making the news in Suffolk today, and starting with cricket. 

    Suffolk's cricketers had a difficult first day in their away match to Lincolnshire yesterday as they slumped to 144 all out.

    The home side posted 177-3 in reply at Cleethorpes. Suffolk’s top scorer was Tom Rash but he could only make 33.

    Day two of the three-day match is due to begin shortly.

  11. Firefighters spend several hours tackling blaze at derelict pubpublished at 09:29 British Summer Time 18 July 2016

    A fire at a derelict pub in Ipswich last night is believed to have been started deliberately. 

    More than 20 crew members were called to deal with the blaze at The Masons on Victoria Street.

    John Southgate, station commander. said the fire is definitely suspicious: "Although we've got power to the building, it is to all intents and purposes a derelict building.

    "There is evidence of some of the boards [across the windows] being removed which is why we had to go and have a look inside, and make sure there was nobody inside."
