We've trying to confirm rumours that plans for devolution for Norfolk and Suffolk have been scrapped.
The Department for Communities and Local Government has said it is issuing a statement shortly.
The deal to devolve some spending powers to Norfolk and Suffolk and the election of a mayor in a new tier of local government is in doubt.
We are being told that an announcement is to be made shortly.

Ipswich MP Ben Gummer has been named as one of 13 to have claimed more than £200,000 in expenses, in the period 2015/16, according to figures, external from the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority.
South Suffolk MP James Cartlidge claimed £113,069.08, the least of Suffolk's seven MPs - who are all Conservatives.

Artist Darren Bird said he's "over the moon, truly over the moon" at the auction price of £1,300 paid by an anonymous bidder from Ipswich, for the original of his "sad" Pudsey picture.
"Birdie" (pictured right) told BBC Radio Suffolk presenter James Hazell: "I'm really, really grateful for all your listeners".
The cartoon features a crying Pudsey with his colourful headband replaced by a sombre black one, and was adopted by Children in Need to reflect the mood of the nation on the day Sir Terry Wogan died.
Pudsey's last visit this morning was to Whatfield Primary School, external, where he joined the children while they were having lunch. I hope someone saved something for him - he'd had a very busy morning.
If not, he should be able to get something to eat when he joins BBC Radio Suffolk's afternoon presenter Lesley Dolphin, who's holding a tea party at the East of England Co-op's HQ, external at Wherstead Park near Ipswich.

There's an Children in Need auction for Birdie's original cartoon from earlier this year, created after the death of Sir Terry Wogan - the lines at BBC Radio Suffolk are open until 12:45.
At the moment it's reached £500 from an anonymous bidder in Long Melford.

I think Pudsey likes the look of this Children in Need cake which is being displayed by members of the pre-school group at the United Reformed Church, external in Stowmarket - I'm just not sure he'll have time to eat it with such a busy schedule.
On the eve of Dalian Atkinson's funeral, his siblings have issued a statement saying: "From his earliest years, our beloved little brother had his heart set on becoming a professional football player.
"He pursued his ambition with determination, and before he had left school, his abilities had been recognised by a talent scout working on behalf of Ipswich Town.
"Dalian grew to be a kind, caring and protective brother, with a lively personality: he was funny and cheeky.
"He always brought life and energy to family gatherings - when Dalian turned up, we knew there would be laughter and banter."

Relatives of former Ipswich Town footballer Dalian Atkinson have paid tribute to him, describing him as a "kind, caring and protective" son and brother, and spoken of their continuing agony at his death.

"Tomorrow we want to celebrate Dalian's life, but the way that he died while he was so vulnerable casts such a dark shadow over everything.
"Every day is filled with agony and frustration because we still do not know what happened nor understand why such force was used on him."

More people in Norfolk and north Suffolk are likely to be treated away from hospitals in future as the local NHS grapples with a predicted shortfall in funding of £415m by 2021.
Dr Wendy Thomson chairs the Norfolk and Waveney sustainability and transformation plan, external (STP) which represents clinical commissioning groups, councils, hospitals, healthcare organisations and the ambulance service.

"Our population is growing, people are generally living longer and the type of care that people need is changing," she said.
"We know that there are ways we can improve how we care for people, and that our current services are not sustainable if they continue as they are now."
People will be asked to take increasing responsibility for their own health and more care will be carried out in communities.
If this can be achieved, it is estimated that one in five people, who would otherwise have needed to be in a hospital bed, could be helped at home, members said
Local people and organisations are being invited to comment on the plan.
The family of former footballer Dalian Atkinson, who died after being shot with a Taser by police, say his death has caused "agony and frustration".
