    A man whose son is facing the real possibility of being extradited to America to face computer hacking charges, has urged those opposed to the extradition to speak up.

    The Revd Alexander Love said: "If you feel this is not the right thing to do, at least write to your MP and say, 'Come on, can we not have a wee think about this?'.

    "We are faced with the prospect, assuming Lauri doesn't take his own life, in a few months time he could be taken away in an orange jumpsuit with chains on his arms and legs and just about nobody in the country will think it's a good idea but it's going to happen."

    The Revd Alexander Love has said the home secretary's decision to sign his son Lauri's extradition order to the United States is "very upsetting" and has "caused a great amount of disquiet in this family".

    Explaining why they'll be appealing against Amber Rudd's decision, he said when district judge Nina Tempia ruled in September that extradition should take place, she said it was because it was in the public interest to honour the UK's extradition treaty with America.

    Mr Love continued: "Now I believe the custodians of the public interest are the public and when I talk to the public, they say they're quite happy for Lauri to stand trial in this country and to face justice here and I'm quite happy with that as well."

    "I'm going to make sure every player who played that day go out again and put things right for this football club," said Marketmen boss Mark Morsley.

    "I want a reaction tonight followed by a good training session on Thursday and then a good performance in the league this coming Saturday."

    A place in the semi-finals is up for grabs, and Seasiders chairman Andy Wilding is confident his team can upset the Trawler Boys, who play two divisions higher. 

    "If we play like we played in the FA Cup earlier this season, then we'll given them a good game," Wilding said. 

    "It's time to have another name on that trophy and we're really looking forward to it."

    However, Lowestoft manager Ady Gallagher says he is likely to field an under-strength side for the match at the Goldstar Ground, with the league his main priority this season. 

    "I don't want to risk people as we're patched up as things are," Gallagher said. 

    "Felixstowe are a good, honest side and we've had some great games against them in the past, but the Premier Cup is not a priority for us."

    The Suffolk Premier Cup, external quarter-finals take place tonight, with Needham Market's match with AFC Sudbury at Bloomfields arguably the standout fixture.

    The teams are second and 16th in the Ryman Premier Division respectively, but the Yellows come into the match off the back of a win in the FA Trophy, while the Marketmen went out of the competition. 

    Elsewhere tonight, Leiston entertain Ipswich Town's U18s at Victory Road and Lowestoft Town visit Felixstowe and Walton United. 

    There is also a West Suffolk derby at Cricket Field Road, as Newmarket Town prepare to entertain Haverhill Rovers.

    Alleged computer hacker Lauri Love, whose extradition order to the US has been signed by Home Secretary Amber Rudd, says he's suffered from depression all his life, and has been suicidal, "often for days and weeks at a time".

    Admitting that he and his family are "disappointed but not especially surprised" at the signing of the order, he added that if any appeal against his extradition is not successful "it's likely I might lose the capacity to avoid the temptation to end my life".

    Lauri Love, who is likely to be extradited to the United States after the Home Secretary Amber Rudd signed an order for his extradition, says if it happens, he doesn't think he'd ever "contribute meaningfully" to society again.

    Mr Love, from Stradishall near Haverhill, said: "I don't think I would get a hearing, I would be forced to plead guilty and I would be kept in prison for potentially decades.

    "[I would] then potentially not be allowed to leave, because I would be considered to owe the US government millions of dollars."

    He has two weeks to appeal against the decision.

    One lane of the eastbound carriageway of the A14 between junctions 44 (Moreton Hall) and 45 (Rougham) has been closed, in order for police teams to conduct searches for RAF gunner Corrie Mckeague, who was last seen in Bury St Edmunds on 24 September.

    The search will cover a mile-and-a-half stretch of road, and will continue into the afternoon, when the road is expected to fully reopen.

  10. Allegations of abuse of vulnerable adults rise by nearly 50%published at 09:52 Greenwich Mean Time 15 November 2016

    The number of allegations of abuse of vulnerable adults in Suffolk has risen by nearly 50%, from 1,817 in 2014/15, to 2,644 for 2015/16, according to a report going before the county council, external later today.

    Tony Goldson, the councillor responsible for health, says he doesn't agree with ill-treating of patients under any circumstance: "I condone anybody who does do it. It's absolutely immoral. 

    "I had a mother who was in a care home and she was well looked after.

    "If I thought she had been abused in any shape or form I can assure you I would not have been a very happy bunny."

    Ipswich Town midfielder Andre Dozzell was on international duty last night as England's U18s drew 0-0 with France in Peterborough.

    The 17-year-old won his sixth cap at U18 level, after coming on as a second-half substitute.

    After a goalless 90 minutes, the French won the penalty shoot-out which followed 5-4.

    Home Secretary Amber Rudd has signed an order for the extradition of Suffolk man Lauri Love to the US, where he is accused of computer hacking offences.

    Mr Love, from Stradishall, near Haverhill, is accused of hacking into the FBI, the US central bank, and NASA.

    The family of the 31-year-old, who has Asperger's syndrome, said they would appeal against the decision.

    His father has said he feared he would take his own life if extradited to the US.

  20. Five men arrested in connection with hare coursingpublished at 17:29 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November 2016

    Five men have been arrested after police received a report of hare coursing in Elmswell at the weekend.

    Officers were called at 09:00 on Saturday, to reports of a group of men with dogs in a field near to Ashfield Road.

    A search was carried out, and a vehicle was stopped in The Street, in Badwell Ash.

    Four men from Surrey, and one man from Berkshire, were all arrested on suspicion of trespassing on private land in pursuit of game, and bailed until early January.

    A vehicle, a silver Mazda estate, was seized under the Wildlife and Countryside Act.
