Inspectors had concerns "relating to medicines, staffing, overall management of the service and one of the provider’s ambulances being involved in a road traffic collision".
The organisation is based in Essex with offices in Fareham. It operates in the south east, including south east Hampshire, Portsmouth, Oxfordshire, and east Berkshire.
Another inspection will take place within six months and action will be taken if improvements aren't made.
SSG UK Specialist Ambulance Service, Fareham, said it had already made improvements and would work closely with CQC inspectors to "resolve any remaining problems".
