The driver, in his 20s, was in his silver Mercedes GL320 on the B1332 Norwich Road in Hedenham, near Bungay, (pictured) at 22:50 when it left the road and hit the tree.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Norfolk Police said.
Police have urged any witnesses - or anyone with dashcam footage - to contact them.
