  1. Man seriously ill after bike fallpublished at 12:04 British Summer Time 3 October 2016

    A man's been seriously hurt after falling off his bike in St Leonards. 

    It happened at 08:45 BST yesterday on the A259 seafront road. 

    The 71-year-old suffered head injuries - he's being treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. 

    Police aren't sure how it happened and they're asking any witnesses to come forward.

    Sussex Police are hunting for a man who's gone missing after failing to attend court where he was due to be sentenced for growing cannabis. 

  3. Southern conductors offered £2,000 to end rail strikespublished at 10:41 British Summer Time 3 October 2016

    The operator of the Southern rail network has offered conductors a lump sum of £2,000 in a bid to bring industrial action to an end.

    Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) has set the RMT union a deadline of midday on Thursday to agree to end strikes.

    It said conductors would also be asked to sign up to new on-board roles as part of an eight-point offer. Read the full story here.

  10. Police concerned for missing woman from Saudi Arabiapublished at 07:43 British Summer Time 3 October 2016

    Police say they are increasingly concerned for the welfare of a woman from Saudi Arabia who has not been seen since she left a property where she was staying in Hove.

    Johmeia Hamed, 49, originally from Eritrea but now a Saudi national, went missing overnight on 18/19 September from the property in New Church Road, Hove.

    She was a maid with a Saudi family who live in Saudi Arabia and who had been staying at their summer home in Hove for a few days from 18 September. They returned home on 21 September.

    Johmeia has never left the family before in the 20 years she has been with them.

    Anyone who sees Johmeia or knows where she may be is asked to contact Sussex Police via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 706 of 19/09.

    Nearly 3,000 children in Sussex are living in temporary accommodation after being made homeless.

    According to new government figures, 634 of those children are being housed in hostels, Bed and Breakfasts and other facilities - known as "pay by the night" rooms.

    Brighton and Hove has the highest number of children living in temporary accommodation in Sussex.
