    A man is being questioned by police after a firework was set off in a pub toilet.

    Police were called to The Shore bar in Dane Road, Seaford, just before 21:30 BST last night. Officers found one of the cubicles in the gents’ toilets had sustained extensive damage.

    A 35-year-old man from Seaford, arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, remains in police custody.

    Police are worried about Anthony O'Neil who's gone missing from Bognor. 

    He was last seen at his home in Aldwick Road on Wednesday morning. 

    The 57-year-old also has linked to East Grinstead and Burgess Hill.

    Police say his disappearance is out of character.

    The effects of Brexit could see seasonal workers from abroad choosing to stay away from the UK, leaving farmers facing a shortage of fruit pickers.

    It's being claimed potential workers are reluctant to come here by reports they wouldn't be welcome. 

    The National Farmers Union is urging the government to introduce a Seasonal Agricultural Workers scheme. The change would mean farmers could recruit from outside Europe.

    The RMT union, external says it has called a national protest for 1 November in support of guards working for Southern Rail, external as part of its long-running dispute with the company.

    A spokesman says the protest will gather from 12:30 BST to 13:30 BST opposite Parliament.

    There will then be a rally inside Parliament from 14:00 BST to 15:30 BST.

    Speakers will include: Mick Cash, General Secretary of the RMT; Manuel Cortes, General Secretary of the TSSA; Andy McDonald MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Transport; and Caroline Lucas, Green MP for Brighton Pavilion.

    The RMT has demanded "passenger safety be put before private profit", but GTR maintains modernising the service would be "safe".

    Chief executive Charles Horton said there would still be a second person onboard trains.

    "By modernising the train service so that drivers have sole control, passengers will get better on-board customer service and fewer delayed trains," he said.

    A flotilla of Russian warships is expected to enter the English Channel this morning en route to Syria.

    Two British naval ships are shadowing the vessels. The Ministry of Defence said they would be "man-marked every step of the way" while near UK waters.

    A Russian tug, believed to be in convoy with the taskforce, has entered the channel off the coast near Ramsgate. Read the full story here.

    Brighton and Hove Albion captain Bruno is on course to be fit for the trip to Wigan on Saturday, according to manager Chris Hughton.

    The defender came off in the midweek win over Wolves with a groin problem.

    Striker Tomer Hemed is set to train today. Hughton is expecting the Israeli International to be available for selection.

    The news will be a huge boost for Chris Hughton. Bruno, 36, has been an ever-present in the league side so far this campaign and started every game last season.

    The Spaniard has helped the Seagulls to eight clean sheets.

    Centre back Lewis Dunk is suspended for the trip but Hughton has Connor Goldson at his disposal. The defender will be keen to get game-time and impress after signing a new four-year contract.

    Specialist police officers are using new heat-seeking technology to help detect migrants hiding in lorries arriving at Newhaven and Shoreham ports.  

    Sussex Police says it has seen an increase in the number of migrants found this year in small ports, harbours and on ferries. 

    And the force is preparing for more attempts by migrants to get to the UK when the Calais jungle is cleared.
