  1. Coperforma: MP breathes 'sigh of relief'

    Eastbourne MP Caroline Ansell has welcomed the news that Coperforma will no longer run patient transport in Sussex:

    This is absolutely the right decision and I breathe a sigh of relief common sense has finally prevailed and others will now run this vitally important service from next year.

    To say the seven months since Coperforma took over this contract have been unsuccessful is undoubtedly an understatement, and probing questions must now be asked about the veracity of the due diligence completed prior to awarding the work to this company."

    After months of controversy, Coperforma, the firm providing patient transport in Sussex, is set to be stripped of its contract today. 

    It's understood the service will be provided by the South Central Ambulance Service.

    Breaking

    Coperforma, the controversial patient transport company in Sussex is set to be stripped of its contract today. 

    The non-emergency ambulance service has faced serious criticism over its performance since taking over the service in April.

    It is believed transport will instead by provided by the NHS via the South Central Ambulance Service.
