The RMT union says it is 'not certain' that talks, set to take place with the rail company Southern, will go ahead this week as planned.

It comes after a deal was struck last week between Southern and the driver's union Aslef.

In a bid to end a long running dispute over the introduction of driver-only operated trains the driver's union Aslef agreed a deal with the rail company last week. The RMT union called it a "shocking" betrayal of workers and passengers.

The deal outlines a number of circumstances when trains will be able to run without an onboard supervisor - something the RMT argues would be unsafe.

We've gone on lots of training walks, we walk from Glynde to Lewes, Burling Gap to Cuckmere Haven, then back to Beachy Head. We're all mums and have lots of children, fortunately they're all well. But one of our group knows someone who used Chestnut Tree House, so this is a way of saying thank you. I'm also a retired GP, so I knew of Chestnut Tree professionally".
