There's been a worrying decline in butterflies in Sussex, according to a wildlife charity.   

Butterfly Conservation says it urgently needs volunteers to help create and restore butterfly habitats in the county. 

The charity hopes conservation work will help boost the number of species found locally.

These men are being sought by police in connection with a robbery in Hove.

It's after three men forced the front door of a house in Kingsway on Tuesday 28 February, between 03:10 and 03:25 GMT. 

Once inside the men trapped the occupants in their bedrooms while they searched the house.

Police have released a CCTV image of man they want to talk to in connection with a street robbery in Brighton.

A man was walking along East Street between 04:00 BST and 05.00 BST on Sunday 12 March when he was approached by a man who started talking to him.

They walked into an alleyway and the victim was punched in the face and he fell over. He then stole his wallet containing cash and cards before running off.

Anyone with information should email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 306 of 12/03.

Theresa May has invoked Article 50, formally declaring the UK's intention to leave the European Union.

Here's a reminder how the South East voted in the referendum. 

The 14-year-old boy was on his BMX when he was knocked down in Braybrooke Road in Hastings. 

It happened at 21:00 BST on Monday when he was in a collision with a Vauxhall Corsa driven by a 22-year-old woman from the town. 

The cyclist suffered a serious head injury and was flown by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital where he is in a serious condition. The driver wasn't hurt.

The clock has started ticking after we formally handed in our official divorce notice to the European Union.

We will have two years to unwind four and a half decades of EU membership, start replacing reams of EU law with a domestic equivalent and work out our future ties to the continent.

A shop owner says he may be forced to close his store after three break-ins in the last 10 years. 

Ben Mitchell says the future of The Stores Department, in Uckfield, is "in the balance" due to increased insurance premiums.  

Time has been taken over the memorial's design, a council leader has said.

The unassuming location best represents an "average English existence", according to statisticians.

Police are appealing for information after the death of Jacob Packham, 23, from Pelham Place in Seaford. 

Jacob's motorbike was involved in a crash with a Land Rover Defender towing a horsebox in Station Road, Berwick, at about 12:15 BST on Sunday 19 March, near the entrance to the Arlington Reservoir.

He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. He died on Thursday 23 March.

The Land Rover was driven by a 58-year-old man from Berwick, who suffered minor injuries.

Police want to speak to witnesses, especially the occupants of a dark-coloured people carrier which drove over the level crossing at Berwick railway station just before the motorcyclist.

I've been along to see an eight-metre-long Lego model of the Flying Scotsman and three Pullman carriages which are going on display at the Kent and East Sussex Railway in Tenterden, Kent.

The models were created by Bright Bricks, which featured in Channel 4’s “Inside Lego at Christmas”.

I'll bring you more on this later.

A council leader has spoken about plans for a memorial to the victims of the Shoreham air crash.

A series of memorial sculptures will be installed along the banks of the River Adur, close to the scene.

The designs, which are in the very early stages, will honour the victims and their families, the first responders and the local community, said Neil Parkin, who is leader of Adur District Council.

They include 11 lights which will be lit all day and night, an arch formed of 11 individual arches, "discrete areas of relatively solitary seating" and bespoke oak seats.

The funeral of motor racing legend John Surtees took place in Sussex yesterday.

Born in Tatsfield, Surrey, he was the only man to have won a world championship on both two and four wheels. In his later years he owned the karting track Buckmore Park in Kent.

Chris Hughton feels there is a "real enthusiasm for change" to give equal opportunities for black managers in the English game.

The Brighton boss is one of three black first-team managers employed at one of England's 92 professional clubs.

He is keen for the change he says he has already seen at grassroots and in academies level to be replicated in first teams at the highest level.

"There is no doubt that the balances are not right," said Hughton.

"It is going to be about talking around the table as much as possible, highlighting it as much as possible and looking to see change.

"Where I have seen change is at grassroots level and academy level. I think everybody wants to see that at first-team level up through the leagues.

"I do think there is a real enthusiasm to want change."

In June last year, Football League clubs  approved proposals to introduce a 'Rooney Rule'  for academy jobs in a bid to increase the number of black and ethnic minority coaches.

Clubs must now include at least one suitably qualified BME candidate on the interview shortlist if such an application is received.

In addition, 10 of the 72 EFL clubs have volunteered to pilot a similar scheme in their first-team recruitment process during 2016-17.

Hughton was speaking at  Tuesday's Black List Awards,, external  which celebrate African and Caribbean achievement in the British game.

The 58-year-old was awarded for his coaching of Brighton, who are currently second in the Championship.

Darren Moore, who is at West Brom, also picked up an award in the coaching category while Chelsea ladies forward Eniola Aluko won in the player category and former Manchester United and Newcastle striker Andy Cole scooped the Keith Alexander award.

Kick It Out chairman Lord Ouseley was recognised in the administration category along with Chelsea's technical director Michael Emenalo.

Five different art works will be located along the banks of the River Adur, close to the crash scene.
