Police have carried out raids on properties and arrested 59 people in the latest operation to disrupt the supply of heroin in Brighton and Hove.

Officers have been targeting dealers who supply the class A drugs in the city and identifying vulnerable people affected by drug trafficking.

Thousands of pounds worth of drugs and cash have been seized.

Elections to our county councils take place in less than four weeks and the Electoral Commission is warning time is running out for anyone not yet registered to vote.

Police are concerned about missing 13-year-old Hamza Chebbi from Worthing.

He went to Homewood College in Brighton on Friday 7 April and at around 10:40 BST he left to board a bus to the city centre.

He was last seen in the Moulsecoomb area with his older brother Hassan the following morning.

Hamza was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black jeans and blue Nike trainers. 

Anyone with information should contact police here, external or call 101, quoting serial 501 of 07/04.

Did you miss this inspiring story? Being part of a marathon has long been the dream of Bethan Griffiths, who has cerebral palsy.

The 22-year-old from from Stourbridge took part in the Brighton Marathon with the help of Becky Amor and Andy Woolway, from the National Star College in Gloucestershire.

They pushed her in an all-terrain wheelchair for 25 miles but she was determined to cross the finish line unaided.

Bethan wanted to take part in the race in memory of her mother, Amanda, who died of motor neurone disease last year.

Campaigners in West Sussex say plans to build up to 1,500 new homes would 'destroy their village'.

Three sites in Pagham have been earmarked for development to help the council meet housing targets.

People are also concerned the area's infrastructure will struggle to cope with another 2,500 planned homes in a neighbouring parish.

It has been 50 years since the Sexual Offences Act decriminalised private homosexual acts between men aged over 21 in England and Wales, in 1967.

In 2016 the government announced that gay and bisexual men convicted of now-abolished sexual offences in England and Wales would receive posthumous pardons.

George Montague from Brighton was convicted in 1974 of gross indecency with a man - the conviction was repealed in May 2004. The 93-year-old, who has fought for an apology, finally received one from the Home Office.

BBC Radio 4's World at One  programme is marking the anniversary of the decriminalisation all this week.

Another 131 free schools have been approved to open in England, creating about 69,000 places.

They include Stone Lodge Academy in Dartford and the Flagship School in Hastings.  

All new state schools are now opened under the free school scheme - which can be run by academy trusts, parents or community organisations.

The Education Secretary Justine Greening said they would help to "give parents more choices".

The biggest number of these new schools will be in the south east, with more than 15,000 places in 27 schools, followed by almost 10,000 extra places in London in 18 schools, and 9,000 places in 12 schools in the west Midlands.
