    Ambulance

The new provider of patient transport services in Sussex missed its targets for punctuality in its first three months, figures obtained by BBC Sussex show.

In April South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) took over from controversial firm Coperforma, which quit its contract early following delays and problems with subcontractors.

At first the service became less punctual under the new providers - though never as bad as it had been when Coperforma first took over in 2016.

Whilst SCAS has improved month by month, there are some measures - particularly the proportion of patients waiting longer than an hour after a planned discharged from hospital - where performance is still worse than it was under Coperforma in early 2017.
