    Services through Tonbridge are being disrupted after a failure of the electricity supply, and flooding in the Frant area is affecting trains between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings.

    Southeastern said there are unlikely to be any trains between Strood and Maidstone West for the rest of the day.

    The rail company posted on its website: "A tree blocking the railway between Strood and Maidstone West means all lines are blocked."

    These horses were left stranded amid a flooded field in Leatherhead, Surrey.

    The scene, captured by BBC Sussex and BBC Surrey reporter Adrian Harms, came after the River Mole burst its banks as flooding affected widespread parts of southern England.

    This is a flood map showing more than 50 flood warnings are in place and more than 190 flood alerts, mainly concentrated in southern England.

    In the South East alone, the Environment Agency said there are currently 22 flood warnings and 83 flood alerts in force.

    Work is underway to clear a landslip which is blocking the railway line between Guildford and Redhill.

    Engineers are inspecting the site and Great Western Railways warned the "land may still be at risk of moving".

    Trains are cancelled while the work is completed, external, GWR said.

    Rail customers have been told not to travel to Gatwick Airport this morning.

    Southern said it "would strongly advise you to not travel at present".

    It added: "Rail replacement buses are being heavily disrupted due to ongoing road traffic conditions, so connecting buses for onward travel are severely delayed."

    Trains are not running between Guildford and Godalming following a landslip on the line, South Western Railway said.

    Disruption is expected until 14:00 GMT, with services cancelled or diverted through Basingstoke.

    A replacement bus service from Havant to Guildford is not expected to start until 9:30, SWR said.

    Gatwick Airport has advised customers to allow extra time for their journeys due to flooding on the M23 near Crawley and disruption on rail services.

    The airport said it is "running as usual" with no knock-on effect on flights currently anticipated.
