People are being urged to avoid London Road in West Kingsdown this morning because the road is fully flooded.

Kent Fire and Rescue said: "Please find an alternative route and don't attempt to travel through the flood water, whether on foot or in a vehicle."

Services are being delayed on the Hastings to London line at Frant because of flooding, Southeastern says.

Highways England says it is "working hard" to clear flooding on the M23 after the motorway was closed between junctions 10 and 11.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service has issed a warning to drivers.

"Flood water is often deeper than it looks and may be moving quite fast - your vehicle could be swept away or become stranded," the service said.

"If you see a sign to say that the road is closed due to flooding, remember the sign is there for a reason and find an alternative route."

Ashford Road, near Turkey Mill in Maidstone, was closed overnight while a fallen tree was removed.

This is the scene at Balcombe this morning.

There is flooding in the Balcombe Tunnel between Three Bridges and Balcombe which means the line to London is currently blocked, according to Network Rail, external.

The company says: "We have a lot of water at Balcombe, but our engineers are on the case and clearing a crest drain of debris which should allow the water to flow away faster.

"We will keep you updated."

Kent Fire and Rescue service says it is responding to calls about flooding from across Kent.

Fire crews are helping a man, who became stuck after driving through flood water in Coppins Road, Leigh near Tonbridge.

Firefighters in water safety suits are working to release the man from his vehicle and people are asked to avoid the area due to the flood water.

Southern is advising passengers not to travel between Brighton and Gatwick Airport.

Disruption is expected to continue until 14:00 GMT, the rail company said on its website.

Trains are still running between Gatwick Airport and London Bridge and London Victoria.

Passengers for stations south of Haywards Heath are advised to travel south to Brighton and travel via Barnham.

There are long delays on the A23 northbound following the closure of the M23, Highways England says.

A slip road on the M26 at junction 2a for Borough Green has been closed due to flooding, Highways England says.
