It's been hard going for Durham this afternoon, but that 62-run lead from the first innings could yet prove crucial.

They were 125-6 when the injured David Bedingham hobbled out of the pavilion with runner Colin Ackermann to try and help stage a rearguard fightback.

He replaced Ben McKinney who edges a low ball from Ed Barnard to the keeper on 33. Since then Bedingham has reached 15 and Ben Raine now has 39 and they have taken the lead past the psychological 200 mark.

Michael Booth did the damage earlier, taking four wickets for 10 runs in four overs.

We now have five overs to go to tea.

Zimbabwean Michael Booth is having an afternoon to remember. He took two wickets in two overs before lunch and two in the space of five balls after it, to leave him on a career-best 4-15.

In his fourth over he cleaned up Colin Ackermann with a yorker which removed two stumps. He was out for four. Three balls later the out of form Ollie Robinson edged to Rob Yates at second slip to depart for one.

Booth's first wicket today came from his fifth ball. By the time he'd bowled 3.5 overs he had 4-10.

It's doubtful the injured David Bedingham will be able to bat so Durham are effectively five down. The ball is nipping about when the sun goes in and it's coldish. Booth is getting the best out of the conditions.

Five men have now been charged with shooting dead grandfather Barry Dowson through his window.

It took 40 minutes for Durham to get the first of the two Warwickshire wickets they needed to see off their first innings. And, then like buses, two came along at once.

Ethan Bamber was the first to go for 21, edging a ball from Matthew Potts to Colin Ackermann at second slip. That ended a partnership of 43 for the ninth wicket with Michael Booth.

Booth finished on 58* because moments after Bamber departed so too did Vishwa Fernando. He was bowled by debutant Brendan Doggett for one.

Doggett finished with 3-71 while Daniel Hogg took 3-60. Durham's lead is not massive at 62 runs, but they do have a slight advantage over the visitors.

It's a sunny day in CLS but there's a distinctly different feel to events today. The wind has picked up and it feels a lot cooler, with highs of only 12C expected compared to the warmth of the previous two days.

The first job for Durham is to try and see off the Warwickshire tail. The new ball is two overs old and it brought a wicket with its sixth delivery last night.

Michael Booth will resume on his highest score of 50 and he also staved off a heavy first innings deficit for The Bears last night when he put on 115 runs for the seventh wicket with Kai Smith.

Smith looked set for his first century but lofted a ball to third man Emilio Gay when he was on 79. It was the only mistake of his innings but it was costly.

There may be a spot of rain around later, but hopefully this game will advance at a rate of knots today.

Kai Smith and Michael Booth have put a partnership together of 101 runs and helped Warwickshire pass the follow-on target too.

Durham haven't really had a sniff of a wicket since tea. The pitch seems flat and slow and the ball is 72 overs old.

Smith also looks set for his first century in FC cricket, having scored his first 50 earlier. He is on 77 and Booth is on 27.

It's gloomy and the lights have been on since 5.27pm. There are nine overs left today and we are looking at a finish of around 6.30pm.
