Durham only took one wicket before lunch, with Notts 133-1 at the break. But closing in to tea they are now seven down.
Codi Yusuf has taken four of the wickets to fall this afternoon, as he saw off Freddie McCann for 26 and Joe Clarke for one. McCann was caught behind while Clarke was bowled.
He also claimed the wickets of Kyle Vereynne for 41 and Lyndon James for 21. They were caught behind too.
Brydon Carse saw off Jack Haynes for one. He was caught and bowled. Meanwhile Liam Patterson-White was bowled for a third-ball duck by George Drissell.
At the other end Haseeb Hameed has led a bit of a charmed life. The inside edge of his bat has been in regular use as he's struggled to time the ball. He's on 108 but has nearly chopped on a number of times.
Kevin Wood, 38, struck the victim 50 times with punches, kicks, and beer cans, police say.

Durham only took one wicket in the morning session, as Notts reached the lunch break on 133-1.
That was from 29 overs of play. But by the time they reached the end of the 35th they were four down!
Codi Yusuf had Freddie McCann caught down the leg side by the keeper on 26. In his next over he bowled Joe Clarke for one.
Brydon Carse then showed great reactions to remove Jack Haynes for one. He was caught and bowled from a delivery which came back off the toe of the bat.
Carse has been bowling well in his first game of the season and in the last over he nearly had Haseeb Hameed three balls in a row.
The first of them whistled past off stump. There was little in it. The next two were played onto the back foot and ricocheted away to safety.
Thomas Phillips threw up to seven punches at his victim who was trying to remove him from the shop.

They're playing on a green top here, but despite Durham putting Notts in, there was little doing for the bowlers in the first hour or so.
Haseeb Hameed and Ben Slater put on an opening stand of 104 before a wicket fell, as Slater edged 17-year-old James Minto to the keeper on 52.
It's Minto's third championship match and comes in the week the Norton Cricket Club player signed a two-year rookie contract. The left-armer has got the ball to seam around and has looked sharp.
As for Slater, it was the 58th time he'd passed 50 in FC cricket and the ninth against Durham. Hameed has 48.

The South African batsman David Bedingham was named in the squad for this one and looked set for a return, having suffered a fractured toe in April. But he isn't playing, I gather at the request of Cricket South Africa.
They are planning ahead for the World Test Championship against Australia next month. Interestingly South African keeper Kyle Verreynne is playing for Notts though.
Sam Conners was also listed in the Durham squad for the first time but doesn't feature. Matty Potts is with England, along with Notts' Josh Tongue, while Australian bowler Brendan Doggett's short spell has come to an end.
In comes 17-year-old bowler James Minto. He signed a new two-year rookie contract this week and is playing in his third championship game.
