The group of four are now 1.26s ahead of the rest but can the four hold it with just over 40km to go.
Well, it can't be said that the towns and villages along the route didn't put out the bunting for the Tour de Yorkshire.

After the Cote de Lofthouse it is just 15 minutes before the riders hit the market town of Masham and there's plenty of folk here to welcome them.
There's been a split at the head of the race with Conor Swift and James Gullen now with something like a 15s advantage over the chasers.
Gullen has taken the King of the Mountain points this afternoon, but will be feeling the pain after that real stinging effort on the hill.
Sebastien Mora Vedri took the last point on the climb.

The four leaders are now beginning that long climb up the Cote de Lofthouse.
Plenty waiting at the top to see them suffer. Interesting if their 1.30s lead over the rest will survive the climb.

You will remember that Russell Downing suffered a broken collarbone following that dramatic crash close to the finish line in Scarborough on Friday.
Well he seems to be in good spirits despite his injury - well enough to tweet some support to his colleagues.

It was hard to make out the riders as they started off in Tadcaster as the crowds were so large. Great atmosphere!

The steep and winding climb has an average gradient of 11.4% but in some places is closer to 20% and has some very tight turns.
