Former Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay has claimed "we could be witnessing the end of the Ulster Unionist Party if they go under 10 seats".
The claim has been rejected by former Stormont minister Michael McGimpsey who told BBC Talkback the UUP was "not going to disappear".

The Alliance leader, Naomi Long, says her party is prepared to go into government if there are other parties willing to work with them on issues such as "division in our society".
She also said that she does not think direct rule is inevitable and that it "would be a disaster for Northern Ireland".
