Summary

DUP marginally largest party by one seat
Sinn Féin has increased its vote, taking 27 seats
Biggest casualty is UUP leader Mike Nesbitt who announces resignation
Turnout is the highest in assembly poll since the vote which followed the 1998 Good Friday Agreement
Overall turnout is 64.8% - up from 54.9% last year

There was a high turnout in Fermanagh-South Tyrone and in West Tyrone but that means the quotas are also up meaning that transfers will be very important.
The DUP and Sinn Féin say they have polled strongly in both areas. The DUP leader, Arlene Foster, has arrived at the count centre in Omagh.
