The first seat for the DUP has been declared. Jim Shannon has held his seat, winning more than 24,000 votes. That's 9,000 more than in 2015.

If the whispers are right in East Belfast the bookies have got it wrong: Alliance leader Naomi Long will not be reclaiming the seat.
That would suggest unionists there were stung by the assembly election result and have rallied around the DUP. Will we see Naomi Long contest this seat again?
Sylvia Hermon has held onto her seat in North Down.

Former Alliance leader David Ford thinks the DUP has secured South Antrim.
"There is no doubt the way the campaign was run, the fear and concern that was spread around the issue of the growing Sinn Fein vote earlier in the year, even the Loyalist Communities Council (LCC) intervention was all, it appears, calculated to increase the DUP vote, whoever it was at the expense of."
