UKIP leader Nigel Farage also told the BBC Radio London programme that the UK has “turned a blind eye to hate preachers”:

    Quote Message

If a Church of England Bishop was to advocate on a Sunday morning that the parishioners went out and committed awful acts he would be banged up and in prison within 24 hours. We have turned a blind eye to hate preachers."

    He added:

    Quote Message

Our government goes on pretending that Saudi Arabia are our friends. Let’s be frank. It is Saudi money that is funding the growth of extremism in this country and we should have the moral courage to deal with.”

  2. Nigel Farage on people being radicalisedpublished at 09:13

The UKIP leader Nigel Farage has been talking about  people being radicalised by so-called Islamic State. He told the Vanessa Feltz Breakfast show on BBC Radio London:

    Quote Message

I can see for people who are kind of a bit outside of society how a radical idea can be attractive, after all Nazism basically picked up people who were on the scrapheap of society. What is I think more disturbing about these two cases is that these are two families who were doing quite well and yet they’ve been attracted by radicalisation.”

  4. 99% of doctors won't lose pay, says Jeremy Huntpublished at 09:00

Away from the Labour shadow cabinet reshuffle, the row over doctors' contracts continues with strike action being proposed by doctors.

Jeremy Hunt, health secretary, told BBC Breakfast talks with the British Medical Association had made "some good progress". He said they were ensuring that the majority of doctors will have their pay protected or see an increase. He added they would also be protected from long working hours.

    Quote Message

I think in some of the biggest areas like pay, we had actually made some good process. We've shown them the calculations which mean we can guarantee that 99% of doctors will see their pay protected or increased and we'd also made a lot of progress in protections to stop doctors working hours that are too long. We're trying to improve the safety and quality of care in the wake of what happened in Mid Staffs and so it's in no-one's interests for doctors to be over-tired when they're doing their job."
