  5. 'No-one should test Turkey's patience' over EU wait, says presidentpublished at 10:46 British Summer Time 15 June 2016

    BBC Monitoring

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has taken what seems to be a dig at David Cameron after the prime minister suggested that Turkey was unlikely to become an EU member before the year 3000.

Drawing attention to the fact that his country has been in line for membership since 1963, he is quoted in the English language website operated by Turkish newspaper Sabah as saying: "Turkey is not an ordinary nation or an ordinary country.

"There is no such thing as 'waiting until the year 3000' or anything like that.

"No one should test our patience, and I believe that, at that point, our government will give, satisfactorily so, the requested responses to the relevant people at the necessary platforms."

The last sentence, we assume, refers to changes that would be demanded of Turkey - politically, economically, and so on - in order for it to qualify for EU membership.

  6. EU is good for fishermen, says think-tankpublished at 10:44 British Summer Time 15 June 2016

Nigel Farage is wrong and the EU actually helps the British fishing industry, according to left of centre think-tank the New Economics Foundation., external

"Fish don’t respect country boarders, so shared management of them is essential," says Griffin Carpenter, economic modeller at the NEF.

"The evidence is overwhelmingly clear that the EU’s Common Fisheries Policy is working. While fish stocks were declining before EU management, many fish stocks are now growing, meaning more fish, more profits and more employment opportunities for our fishing industry."

  7. Coat hangers or pensions?published at 10:43 British Summer Time 15 June 2016

MPs are trying to work out how much control Sir Philip had over BHS.

The former owner is asked about reports that he looked at a new contract for coat hangers to save BHS £400,000 when he took over the business.

If coat hangers were brought to his attention, didn't someone tell him about the growing pensions deficit, MPs ask.

    "Unfortunately they didn't," he says.

  10. Problems in fishing industry caused by government not EU, says Labourpublished at 10:23 British Summer Time 15 June 2016

Kerry McCarthy MP, Labour's shadow environment secretary, has given some thoughts on the Fish for Leave demonstration.

"Our EU membership provides access to Europe's fishing waters worth £100 million to the UK and British fishing boats are able to land and sell their catch in any EU country.

"This Tory government's continued failure to bring forward a fairer distribution of the quota means the UK's smaller, more sustainable fishermen are struggling to make a decent living - this is a Tory government decision, and nothing to do with the EU."

  11. Labour MPs 'must make clear its opposition to Osborne Budget'published at 10:23 British Summer Time 15 June 2016

    Gisela StuartImage source, Getty Images

Gisela Stuart, who is a Labour MP as well as being chair of Vote Leave, says she can't believe her party - and its former chancellor - "would support an Osborne punishment Budget that is designed to hit the poorest hardest".

    Quote Message

George Osborne's reckless and shameful proposals would, if not blocked, cut the NHS, cut pensions and cut funding for schools and I will never vote for this and nor do I think will any of my Labour colleagues. I hope the Labour Party will now make clear that these desperate proposals would never have our support, and are nothing more than another sorry attempt to scare the British people into supporting George Osborne, David Cameron, and their rich friends who want us to remain in the EU."

  17. Pro-Brexit flotilla heading up the Thamespublished at 10:03 British Summer Time 15 June 2016

In possibly the most unlikely development of the campaign so far, a flotilla of fishing boats is currently making its way up the Thames.

The idea behind the idea is to arrive in central London in time for prime minister’s questions at noon.

UKIP leader Nigel Farage is leading said flotilla, which has been organised by Scottish skippers, who have set up the pro-Brexit Fishing for Leave campaign.

    LBC

    Iain Duncan SmithImage source, PA

Here's a more of what Leave campaigner Iain Duncan Smith said a bit earlier to LBC.

He described the idea of a post-referendum emergency Budget as "the most bizarre and ridiculous" thing the Remain side has done so far, adding: "Project Fear has gone into hyperspace."

Mr Duncan Smith attacked the assumptions made by the chancellor, arguing they were based on a report by the Institute for Fiscal Studies which was "skewed" because it drew on Treasury forecasts.

He accused Mr Osborne of creating a "manufactured issue" in order to frighten and "bamboozle" the public.f
