    House of Commons
    Parliament

In response to a question from SNP Westminster leader Angus Robertson on Brexit, Mrs May said she was "very pleased that her first trip as prime minister was to Scotland. "The union is very important to me," and pledges full involvement with the devolved nations as the UK negotiates its withdrawal from the EU.

Mr Robertson asks her, ahead of her visit for talks with French and German leaders today and tomorrow, to thank Germany for its interest "in having Scotland remain in the EU" - and asks her to stress that Scotland will do "everything" necessary to remain in the EU.

Mrs May says she finds it confusing that two years ago the SNP was campaigning for Scotland to leave the UK, "which would've meant them leaving the EU".
